Acanthus_

Chest soaked in blood as I exhale, I look at the night sky for the last time in this Life. Appreciating its beauty as much as I can. The cloudless sky, the beautiful full moon hanging, and the stars twinkling...

Twinkling?

No. Stars don't twinkle... Who once told me about it again? Father? A one-time fling? Ah, I forgot.

It all seems so far now.

I close my eyes. Trying to remember. Trying so hard to distract myself from these suffocating feelings I held within.

“Your stupid...”

“What?”

“Their dying.”

“Who...?”

“The stars.”

With heavy eyelids, I try to open my eyes again but a futile attempt. I could even hardly feel my body...

Well, thinking back about it, at least, I was able to express myself every so often in this Life, thus exempting me from tons of regrets... That at least, I did my best in this Life.

But guess my best wasn't good enough.

And with no more life force to support my existence in this world, only then did I snuff my breath, leaving.
