Neteyam pov

"Neteeeyaammmm, I want to go swimming." Tuk whined pulling on my arm. I had been left on babysitting duty for the day. Mum and dad had left to go hunting with the other adults, Lo'ak had gone to find Tsireya, and Kiri had wandered off to explore the ocean.

"We went swimming earlier." I sighed and pulled her up onto my hip.

"I want to go again." She crossed her arms and screwed her face up at me. I stuck my tongue out at her.

"Let's go then." I sighed and started off towards the water. She started bouncing on my hip in excitement. I placed her in the sand right by the shore and gestured for her to go for a swim.

"I don't want to go on my own." She tugged on my arm. I let her pull me in until it was too deep for her to touch. She hung off of my neck swimming out a little way then swimming back to me. She let out an excited squeal.

"Look!" She pointed to the bottom of the ocean. A little pink shell sat on the bottom.

"Get it. Get it. Get it." She splashed excitedly. I smiled at her and dove down to get the shell. I grabbed it and swam back up to the surface. I held it out in my hand to show her. She smiled at me and grabbed it from my hand.

"I love it." She squealed. I laughed at her excitement. She swam for a little longer before yawing and hanging off of me again.

"Home time?" I asked smiling at her tired expression. She nodded. I picked her up and carried her home. Mum was there when we got back. She grabbed Tuk from me and placed her down for a nap. I turned to leave.

"Where are you going?" She looked at me curiously.

"Just for a walk." She eyed me suspiciously but didn't ask anything else. She knew something was up. It wouldn't be long before she started questioning things. I was looking down at my feet as I walked, not paying attention to my surroundings. It wasn't long before I realised the village was out of view. I hadn't noticed I'd walked so far. I stopped and looked out over the ocean. I stayed like that for a while before someone grabbed my waist. I acted on instinct and swung out behind me connecting with what i assumed was someone's face. I heard a thud as they hit the ground. I spun to face them. It was Aonung.

"Shit. I'm so sorry." I crouched down to look at his face. I'd hit him square in the mouth. His lip was bleeding a little.

"Shit?" He asked. I guess he'd never heard that word before. But why was he worrying about that. I'd just punched him in the face.

"It's an English word my dad taught me. Are you ok?" He just laughed. Maniac.

"I'm fine, guess I know not to sneak up on you anymore."

"That might be a good idea." I agreed smiling. I grabbed his hand to pull him up. "What are you doing all the way out here?"

"Following you."

"Creep." I smiled as he laughed.

"What are you doing out here?" He turned the question around to me.

"Just going for a walk." He nodded. He grabbed my hand and began walking backwards into the water. I let him pull me in until the water was about chest deep. He grabbed my other hand with his. I looked down at our interlocked fingers. A small smile spread across my face.

"Is this ok?" He asked searching my face. I nodded smiling. He looked at me with that intoxicating smile of his. He really was beautiful.

I still couldn't believe that Neteyam wanted for us to happen. It was like a dream come true. His hands in mine, that smile on his face. It was perfect. I moved my hand to his cheek. He looked a little surprised but didn't move my hand, if anything he lent into the touch. I was sure that he could hear my heart beating. It felt like it was about to fall out of my chest.

Neteyam moved closer to me, I dropped my hand from his cheek. He tentatively placed his hand on my chest right above where my heart was. I could feel the heat spread across my face.

"You're blushing."

"I can't help it." I smiled at him knowing he was the reason.

He was truly beautiful. His eyes, his smile, his laugh. Everything. He was beautiful. We walked back to the village together. I listened as he spoke about everything and nothing. We had reached the outer pods of the village when Rotxo came running up to us. He slowed down a bit when he noticed me. He stopped in front of us warily glancing at me.

"Aonung, you'll never believe it." He sounded excited.

"What?" Aonung was looking at him confused.

"Asami said she's going to ask you to go to the party." I whipped my head to stare at Aonung. Who the hell was Asami. Aonung glanced at me quickly before looking back at Rotxo.

"Aren't you excited? Asami is so into you." I walked off not wanting to hear what Aonung was going to say back to him. I could feel his stare burning into my back.

Neteyam had just walked off. He didn't even look back. Rotxo was still going on about Asami and her friends. True they were all quite attractive they just weren't Neteyam. I was fed up of hearing about them.

"Look I have to go." I walked off leaving Rotxo looking confused. Far out Neteyam walked quick, I had to basically run to catch up with him. I finally got close enough to grab his hand.

"Neteyam wait up." I said tugging on his hand. He turned to me looking pissed. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Liar." He sighed and rolled his eyes walking away from me again. "You know I don't like her, right?" Surely he did.

"Rotxo seems to think that you do." He stopped walking but didn't face me.

"Rotxo doesn't know anything." I walked and stood in front of him. He still looked pissed but not as much as before. "I don't like her at all. I like you."

"You mean that?" He was staring straight into my eyes.

"Yes." He smiled faintly.

"Sorry for overreacting." He looked down embarrassed.

"It's ok. At least I know you care. Plus it's quite hot seeing you jealous." I leant in to whisper the last part in his ear. I pulled back and laughed at the expression on his face. His eyes were wide open and he had a small blush creeping it's way across his cheeks. I smiled and turned heading into the village. I left him there looking stunned.

"I'll see you later." I called over my shoulder.
