This is my first kind of book so pls help me improve by giving me feedback!

All I could think was no one was going to rescue us, until the ship arrived at the wreckage. My brother was laying on top of a wooden board while I laid in
a floatable basket that he placed me in before the ship was destroyed. I was sobbing hysterically unable to process what was happening. Will wasn't waking up to tend to me and I was hungry. My white bonnet and dress was stained with residue of gun powder and there was a nasty cut that went across my cheek. "Man overboard!!!!" Shouted a voice in the distant. "Father look! A basket and it looks like there something in there!" Shouted a little girls voice. It didn't seem like over 2 minutes when I realized the basket I was in was being retrieved by a man who had dived in. He placed it on the deck and a man with funny curly hair opened the lid. "It's a...baby..." said the man. "A baby father?" Asked the girl. "I'll tend to her, lizzy tend to the boy and find out who he is" said the man as he lifted me out of the basket. I heard a little bit away William asking for me. The girl reassured that I was alright. But then I saw her take something. The man cradled me in his arms smiling down at me. He passed me to a woman that looked like a servant or maid and she took me away down under the deck but as we disappeared I saw the man and his daughter having a conversation. "His name is will turner that's all I found ou..." then their voices faded into a memory...
The sound of a church bell rang in the distance. My eyes opened slowly to the sight of the white cream ceiling of my bedchamber. My bedchamber window had a clear view of the clock tower and I saw the time. 6:45 am. I was late! I scurried out of bed and began to wash my face with the bowl and pitcher of water on my wash table. I dressed in my white underdress because I was going nowhere special with my swimming suit underneath which was just a spare set of my underclothing. Since my hair was long it got really messy in the morning but I put it into a messy low tail with strands sticking out. I grabbed my brown cheap made pumps and my leather messenger bag. I headed down the stairs and carefully made sure no one in the household would catch me. I headed down to the open waters at the dock. I always had to make sure no one would see me. You see, when I was found with my brother will, will agreed and requested that I be put into the care of the governor so that I could learn the ways of a lady. You'd think I'd be all that, dressed in fancy clothes and hairstyles that tower to the roof but no. The governor and even Elizabeth could never keep tabs on me. I was always at my secret beach that no one else knew about and would swim, write stories, sketch, paint, make things from the rocks and and sticks that washed up on shore. I even made myself a little hut made from logs. It was like a tent. As I made my way there, I had to assure myself that I would be back before the clock chimed 5 times.

Sorry for the short chapter! This book is kind of a test! I'll probably write a better one later on:)
