(Y/n)'s pov

I sighed tiredly as I finally finished the mountain of laundry that I had been working on since last night. I hated that I was a little rude to the man that was just trying to make sure I was safe but still I had to work and he was distracting me. And the last thing I really need is distractions while I'm working.  Hanging the last of the laundry to dry I smiled satisfied with my work and relieved it was quitting time until tomorrow and all I wanted to do was sleep. Collecting my pay from the envelope that was dropped off a few minutes ago I quickly stuffed it in my pocket and hurried home hoping to get some peace and quiet so I could get a little sleep before Charlie got home and hopefully be able to surprise everyone with a decent dinner instead of just cabbage water. On the way home I stopped by a small produce stand and picked out a few small veggies that weren't too expensive and quickly headed home in order to get everything ready. I got stuck in a large crowd of people who were gathered around the front of the candy store and news paper stand.

"No way Willy Wonka's opening his factory! And we have to find the golden tickets?!" A man exclaimed before pushing his way into the candy store which was also packed. I scoffed at their greedy behavior I hadn't been able to buy a wonka bar in years and ever year Charlie got at least ten for good behavior or something like that. "Move it lady I'm gonna find that golden ticket," a snobby man yelled pushing me down and storming past me . Clutching my small bag of groceries closer I walked home passing the wonka factory halfway there. When I heard a strange voice calling to me, "  miss  you dropped something!" Quickly turning I saw the man from last night he still wore a purple coat and had a walking cane/stick that he had late last name. He held up a wonka bar but I knew it wasn't mine I couldn't afford one in years, " I'm sorry sir that's not mine I have t bought one in years" I told him sadly before continuing walking away.

I continued walking home shaking the feeling of being followed or watched do to me rejecting the same man twice in the span of 12 hours. "There you are (y/n) finally getting home after not being here for what a week? Don't you realize you're the main provider for this house!" Grandpa Jo said the second I walked in. It's true I did make the most money in the family but I was only really home maybe 12 to 14 hours a week because of it. "I've been working grandpa late hours but at least I'm bringing home better food than just cabbage," I started washing the vegetables and started on the soup. I heard them scoff at this but it's true any penny I make goes straight to them I haven't had a new dress or anything nice since I was 7. After awhile both Charlie and Jane walked in Charlie excitedly talking about the golden tickets and how he would love to get one.

I tuned everyone out and started dishing up the soup when Charlie pulled a nice loaf of bread out of his bag. My mouth watered at the sight of it we hadn't had fresh bread in months and this was amazing. As soon as everyone was done eating they prepared for bed and was out like lights but not me I couldn't sleep. Quietly I made my way down the small ladder that lead to my tiny loft and quietly snuck out the door and started walking. I hated my home life yes I loved Charlie and he was my everything right now but I couldn't keep killing myself for the others I had thought about running away so many times and yet every time I told myself no because Charlie needed me. But what more could I do? I had nothing left he was the only one who got his birthday celebrated and was able to have new sweaters knitted every other month while I'm in literal rags.

Stopping in front of Wonka's factory I placed my hand gently on the gate. I knew alittle about him but not much I was far to busy working all the time to ever even buy a wonka bar or be able to just stop and smell the sugary sweet smell coming from the factory on the way home.

" Willy I know I'm not that little girl anymore but I still remember you hopefully you remember me to," I whispered blowing a kiss past the gate and towards the part of the factory that contained the housing area.

Without another word I walked off down the street without knowing that Willy watched the whole thing from his bedroom window through a telescope he had.
