Too perfect to be true

"I love you", she says,

looking at me with tender eyes.

I wouldn't have guessed that she would confess.

But those words were only sweet little lies.

I pulled her into a soft embrace,

only to realize I couldn't feel the warmth.

Feelings submerging me like tidal waves,

bricks crushing me with their weights.

Slowly, I open my eyes,

only to realize,

this was all a dream,

and my feelings remained unseen.

This all felt too perfect to be reality
