Canada awoke in his bed to the sound of chirping birds outside his window, groaning as he rolled over onto his back and looked up at the ceiling. The sun was already up, and it looked to be about noon from what he could tell.
He looked over at the clock on his nightstand, nodding when he saw that it was 1 PM. He sat up in his bed, stretching his arms and cracking his back as he let out a yawn. He wasn't wearing a shirt, only a pair of grey sweatpants. He had freckles on many parts of his body, such as his face, and arms. These freckles were white and dark red in color.
His hair wasn't incredibly long, but it was a bit longer than most mens haircuts, it was fluffy and dark red in color with streaks of white running throughout it. His eyes were emerald green, and his nails were painted black.
He had a sharp set of fangs which were visible when he yawned.
Canada would blink the sleep away from his eyes and get up, grabbing his phone before walking to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee.
As he waited for his coffee to finish brewing he'd lean against the counter, scrolling through his phone and humming a bit as he checked the notifications he had received during the night— which was none. He wasn't very popular online because he was typically too nervous to talk to anyone in real life much less over the internet.
He got bored and put his phone into his sweatpants pocket, walking around his kitchen and grabbing the ingredients to make himself a plate of homemade pancakes for breakfast. He didn't typically use the pancake mix that could be purchased at the grocery store because to him it just wasn't the same as homemade pancakes. The same could be said for maple syrup, he usually made his own as apposed to purchasing a bottle from the supermarket because homemade syrup was just better in his opinion.
He grabbed a bowl and whisk, pouring the dry ingredients in and sifting them together before creating a hollow circle in the middle and adding in his other ingredients. He would then mix everything together before pouring his pancake batter into a pan. From there he would just cook his pancakes as normal until they were a nice brown color.
He piled his pancakes up onto a plate, topping them with a generous amount of whipped cream, maple syrup, and fruit. This wasn't Canadas first time making pancakes and at this point he had easily mastered the recipe while also picking up a few good techniques for making them as fluffy and delicious as he could, so they looked pretty good.
By then he had finished making his coffee as well, so he picked up his mug and made his way to the couch, plopping down onto it and sitting his mug down on a wooden coaster which was placed on the corner of his end table.
Canada sat with his legs crisscross and put his plate down in his lap, grabbing the remote and switching on the television, after finding a good show he'd eat his breakfast and watch it at the same time.
The realization suddenly hit him that he had to go to work tomorrow and he would let out a loud groan. Why did he only get the weekends off? It wasn't any fair. He tried to look on the bright side and reminded himself that he was getting payed to go to work so it was worth it in the end..
He finished his food, putting the plate down on the end table next to his mug as he was too lazy to get up and wash it. He chugged his coffee, starting to get pretty bored with the show he had picked out and contemplating on what he should do in order to cure his boredom.
He needed some things from the grocery store.. maybe he'd go grocery shopping. Yea, that seemed like a pretty good idea, and maybe he could even pick up some sweets to treat himself.
He got up, washing and drying the dishes he had used before putting them back where they belonged and running off to go take a shower. He took very long hot showers, mostly because he got distracted while showering and his mind would wonder off.
He fixed his and put on what he usually wore, jeans, a long sleeved shirt, black high top converse, and a hoodie. It was an admittedly boring outfit, but Canada didn't like to draw attention to himself anyway so it worked well for him.
Finally he was ready to head out the door. He drove to the market, listening to music on the way. Once there he pulled out a list he had written for himself which just contained everything he needed, milk, macaroni and cheese, a few different veggies and fruits, and salmon amongst various other food and snack items.
He decided to get the milk and salmon last as dairy products and meat were both kept at the very back of the store, opting to visit the produce section first instead.
Just as he was about to finish collecting all the things he needed from the produce section he noticed a rather tall person examining the produce. Canada was already a very tall country himself so he was admittedly a bit shocked to see someone even taller than him and couldn't help to you take a quick glance over at them. He noticed that they were a county like him, with their flag being white, blue, and red. He also noticed their wings and horns, which bared resemblance to that of a dragon.
He didn't think much of it though, and would occasionally notice the taller country walking around the store as he shopped. From what Canada could tell the country seemed to be purchasing mostly meats and dairy, plus a few bell peppers. Canada loved bell peppers to the point he would sometimes just eat them whole like apples.. maybe this person liked them too?
Thinking about it made him crave bell peppers, so he'd go back to the produce section to get some.
After he was finished with his shopping and had payed for his items he'd start to walk away, getting distracted by the posters and advertisements hung up around the door and not really paying attention to where he was going which caused him to run right into someone and fall back hard onto his ass.
He looked up to see who he had run into only to be met with the face of the tall country from earlier. They extended their hand and helped him up, apologizing and beginning to gather the groceries which the Canadian had dropped.
Now that he was closer them he could see their face much better and he realized they looked very familiar..
"Hey.." Canada began, which attracted the attention of the other male who was still gathering all of the Canadians groceries.
They stared at each other wordlessly for a moment before something suddenly clicked and both of the mens eyes would widen as they realized who they were looking at. Canada let out a gasp and both men would exclaim the same words in unison:
"It's you!"
