Each couple sits next to each other, side-by-side as we sit and wait for whatever is going to happen to happen. Nick has his arm on the lower part of my back again, but this time it is rather comforting to have someone next to me while we meet someone new.

Arielle walks back in, her enthusiastic attitude the same as it was earlier in the day.

"Hey again, Islanders," she says, and we cheer, despite the tone of the group different. "So, I think you know why I'm here...."

"New girl!" Lucas shouts out to Arielle, causing her to laugh.

"Yes, I am here to introduce a new islander," she announces. "Everyone, meet Maya."

An absolutely gorgeous blonde walks in through the walkway. She stands tall, probably about five foot nine, not including the heels she is wearing. The bright red bikini she is wearing exposes the hourglass shape that i'm sure have men watching her every move. I take a second to turn my head to see Nick's reaction, and, as I expected, he has his eyes focused on her body as she makes her way over to us.

"Hello everyone," she greets, giving all of us a little wave.

"Hey," we all return, dragging out the word as Maya takes a spot next to Arielle.

"Maya is our new single, which means she is not a part of a couple. However, a re-coupling will be held later on, and whoever is not in a couple will be dumped from the island," Arielle explains.

"So, Maya, what guy do you have your eye on?" Olivia asks, her nail between her teeth as she giggles out the question.

"Well, Lucas is super hot," she answers. We all nod in agreement. "Nick caught my eye too."

The rest of the girls look over at me as if they are trying to read my expression, looking for jealousy of some sort. I just shrug.

"Go after what you want, girl," I encourage. Maya smiles at me.

"Enough about boys," Isabella chimes in. "What's your, like, vibe?"

"Well, I'm currently in school for music," she says, and we all cheer for her, causing her to smile. "I want to be a musician, hopefully get big one day."

"What instrument do you play?" Gianna asks her.

"Electric guitar, mostly, but I play a little of everything."

"Oo, girl, I love electric guitar!" Isabella says.

"Me too," I agree, nodding along with Isabella.

"You should show us sometime!" Gianna adds. Maya nods in agreement. We continue to talk for a little while longer before the conversation comes to an end.

"Well, welcome to Love Island!!"

Later on that night, drinks are passed around, and music is blasting. Isabella is dancing with Lucas, and Ivy is dancing with Aryan. Kyle and Gianna are chatting away in the corner, and I watch as Gianna giggles, tucking her hair behind her ear flirtatiously. I walk around, trying to find Nick, but I see that he is engaged in a conversation with Maya. A smile plays on his lips as she rambles on about something. It is then when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to find Fernando smiling, offering a drink to me.

"Thank you," I say, gladly accepting the beverage.

"You lonely?" He asks me.

"Oh, it's fine, I'm just walking around, checking everything out," I assure him. "Where's Olivia?"

"She said she had to 'freshen up', I guess," he answers, shrugging as if he isn't sure. I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion, but I just end up deciding to shake it off and ignore his ignorance. "So, where are you from?"

"Georgia," I answer.

"Oh really?" He asks, and I nod. "What part?"

"Atlanta," I answer.

"Ah, I have a cousin who moved close to there, Athens, I believe?"

"That's cool," I smile to him. "What about you?"

"California, but I'm originally from El Salvador."

Hence the accent.

"That's so cool!" I enthuse.

"Yeah, I grew up there, and moved to L.A. once I turned 18."

"How come?" I ask, and he lets out a deep breath. "If you don't mind me asking," I add.

"No, it's okay," he assures. "No, I just didn't have a great relationship with my family, so I moved to the United States. I'm much happier here."

I find myself smiling throughout the rest of our conversation, until Olivia comes up, greeting us as she arrives.

"Hey guys," she says, looking over to me. "Hailey, where's Nick?" She gives me this glare that gives energy that differs from the energy from our group conversation with Maya earlier. It takes me by surprise, and I take that as my cue to leave.

"I'm not sure, but I will go check on him," I say, smiling at them both. "Good bye, Fernando," I say as I part from the couple. I let out a sigh as I make my way to Nick.

I want to talk to him about something.
