Pixel woke up on a mattress in a cell.
"Uh oh, am I in jail?" She muttered, attempting to grab Pancake from her belt.
"P-Pancake?"
...
"Ugh, okay. Guess we're separated again." She looked around. There was a chair in the cell, and Pancake was nowhere in sight. Just then, she heard footsteps. A cookie opened the door. It was a woman with red clothes.
"So you're the one he was worrying about..."
"Hey! Let me out!"
"No. Until you tell me what I need to know, you're staying here."
"Fine, what is it?"
"Which cookie has the most power on your side?"
"I don't know."
"Then tell me a bit about those heroes, what are they planning?"
"I don't know."
"Ugh, yes you do. You just won't tell me a damn thing."
"Correct. Unless I get Pancake, my mouth is staying shut!"
"Pancake? That child? I'm not wasting my time."
"Pancake isn't a child, it's my sword!"
"Well that's just too bad, you aren't getting your sword."
"Then I'm staying silent!" The cookie sighed and pushed a button on the wall. A small blade shot out from the ceiling and stabbed her hand. Jam came out of her hand.
"AH! SHIITAKE!"
"Tell me what they're planning."
"I DON'T KNOW! WHO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!"
"The people from your side."
"They're gonna kill that stupid witch, okay?!"
"Stupid witch? That's not very nice. She brought us all into this world."
"I don't care! She's horrible, and I hope she dies!" The cookie pushed the button again, another blade came out and got her hand again.
"I guess you don't realise why you're here. You're here to tell us what we need to know about the others. The ones that want to crush the darkness."
"Darkness?! You mean you're evil?!"
"Yes. And evil people do evil things." She pushed the button again and it shot another blade through her hand.
"I SWEAR TO GOD, I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL STOP THE EVIL, I PROMISE!"
"Oh? That's interesting."
"YEAH, AND I, PIXEL DESSERT DE LA SWEET BONBON WILL END EVERY EVIL FORCE THERE IS! I SWEAR ON MY LIFE!"
"Mhm, sure you will. And if you won't tell me anything else, we're done here."
"I-I'M NOT SAYING ANYTHING, YOU ARE EVIL! AND AS SOON AS I GET OUTTA HERE I'LL KILL YOU!" The cookie groaned and pushed the button before leaving the room. To taunt Pixel, she left the door open. She also left a bandage roll just out of her reach. Pixel held her hand and teared up. She had a lot of strength in her words, but wasn't strong physically. She's more bark than she is bite. A small dog-like creature came running into the room.
"Ughhh... hello little cake dog."
"Ruff! Ruff ruff!"
"I don't understand you, but nice to meet you, doggie." More footsteps were heard. A red man entered the room. Pixel wasn't very scared when the woman was there, but this man had a giant, jam-stained sword. She shivered.
"Chiffon, there you are!"
...
"Oh, Chiffon. We do not talk to prisoners." The man dropped the sword and picked the pup up. It kissed him. He sent the dog back upstairs and looked at Pixel. He seemed a little bit shocked.
"You're the prisoner? You? A child?"
"Y-Yeah, but not for long! I'll get outta here!"
"Yeah, yeah, I've heard that one before. Always some overconfident brat that has no idea how hard it is to survive here." He sighed.
"Overconfident brat?!" Pixel shot up. "Do you know who I am?! I am Pixel Dessert De La Sweet Bonbon, the slayer of evil! I'll crumble you if I must!" The man picked up his sword. She noticed the giant red hand he had and instantly shut up.
"You have no idea who you're talking to. I would never let myself crumble because of a worthless child like you."
"W-Worthless?! No, I'm not worthless! I kill anyone and everything evil! You wouldn't stand a chance!" He noticed the jam on the floor and saw her hand.
"In your current state I think it's safe to say I absolutely would. If anything, you'd be the one crumbling. What did she do anyway?"
"These blade things came through the roof, but I'm fine! I wouldn't let some blades kill me!"
"Oh. So that's why Strawberry Crepe was called down..."
"Now you listen here! You let me out or you're gonna see the afterlife!"
"Kid, drop the confident act. I can tell you're terrified."
"M-Me? Terrified? Hah, of course not!" He gave her a terrifying glare. She froze.
"You're terrified." He said. She gave up, sitting down and cracking her leg a bit in the process. Her fear overruled her pain.
"I don't get it! I've never felt fear before!"
"Not even once?"
"... I can't remember." That was a lie, she had definitely felt fear before. She wasn't gonna tell this stranger where though.
"Look, here's some advice. The people here won't hold back on you because you're a scared kid. Nobody would. So if you have a plan to survive, you probably couldn't do it alone."
"S-So what do I do?"
"It's simple. Join the darkness."
"W-What?! No!"
"It's your choice. You can join us for guaranteed protection, or you can die out there."
"... I'm not joining the darkness! Not until I see something that makes me want to!"
"Very well. Bye."
"Wh- HEY WAIT!"
"What?"
"C-Could you at least pass me a bandage? I-I'm bleeding a lot..."
"... Fine." He kicked the bandage over to her.
"Can you help me out? I don't know how to do this stuff."
"Kid, I cant. I'm not allowed to."
"But then I won't survive! Please, Mr. red cookie guy, help me out!"
"Red cookie guy? That isn't my name."
"I'm sorry, just help me out! I never learned this stuff! I just need this one thing, and I'll be quiet for the rest of the day!"
"Quiet... as in, you won't do anything stupid?"
"Of course!"
"... Alright, fine. But you say one word about this and you're dead. Am I clear?"
"Y-Yes! Thank you so much!" The cookie wrapped her hand up.
"There. You're welcome."
"Thank you so much Mr... uhh..."
"Just call me red cookie."
"Your name is red cookie?"
"... No. But it's close enough."
"Oh, well thank you red cookie! How can I repay you?"
"You can stay there and keep quiet." He responded, walking out. She waited for him to go, then smirked to herself. Stay in the cell and keep quiet? Hah, what a joke! She stood up and examined the room. There was a window. It looked fairly dark outside.
"Hmm... okay, I'm not scared of the dark. But first I should find Pancake." She kicked the cell door, but it didn't crash. Instead, the crack in her leg kicked in.
"AH! F-Fudge, okay then! I should probably find a different way to escape." She tried different things, but nothing was working. The ideas of defeat started flooding her mind, but Pixel was a determined little twat! (I'M SORRY 💀) She wasn't gonna sit here and endure pain! She had to find Pancake and get the hell out of here! But... how was she meant to do that?
"Hmph... this won't be easy." She muttered. She almost started crying because she'd never been in a situation like this. She had to live up to her name, Pixel Dessert De La Sweet Bonbon! The defender of the cakes, the one who killed the Cake Witch, the one that had to save her entire kingdom! She can't accept defeat, she can't sit here and cry! She can't even get help or fear anything! She had to fight and be brave! She had to break out, no matter what!
(Meanwhile with a certain group of cookies...)
"Hm, I wonder where she came from then..." Said Dark Enchantress.
"What if she ain't one of the goodies?" Asked Schwartzwälder.
"I am almost certain she's good. She hates the Cake Witch." Stated Pomegranate.
"... Has there ever..." Hesitated Dark Choco.
"Hmm? What was that?" Asked Pomegranate.
"... Been a case of a cookie... that has no idea who we are?"
"That doesn't make any sense though! Every cookie knows who we are!" Said Licorice.
"How do you know? Didn't Dark Enchantress Cookie recruit us randomly and nobody freaked out?" Asked Strawberry Crepe.
"Hmm... perhaps she might need a test." Pondered Dark Enchantress.
"A test? What kind of test, master?" Asked Pomegranate.
"A test of... strength. Or maybe we can test her courage. I don't know, it depends on how she is tomorrow. Strawberry Crepe Cookie, you seem to be her age! Check on her tomorrow, pretend to be a naive kid that just wandered in!"
"Okie dokie, Dark Enchantress Cookie!"
