🏒🤍✨When Calum first introduced me to Hunter Ribecco, my first thought was god he is so annoying. He was like another version of my brother but worse because my parents couldn't tell him off for teasing me. That was when I was 8, and he's still up to his tricks today. As a 21 year old.
He and my brother are in the year above me at The University of Michigan. Both of them play for the Wolverines and are the campus studs. I've been to a few parties with them and it's sure to say that they always have a girl on their lap or on stand-by. Many of whom I've said hello to when they try to sneak out of Calum's room after having a good night.
The same, however, does not apply for me. As soon as a boy even tries to go near me, they are next to be and scaring him away. And the one time I snuck out to meet up with a guy, they caught me before I even got in my car. So yeah, my life with these two idiots has always been interesting to say the least.
Currently I am sat on the couch listening to mom and Calum arguing about his grades. Again. Mom isn't keen on letting him play a contact sport so the only way she allowed him to play was if he kept up with his school work and was getting at least straight B's. He hasn't been keeping up with that exactly. His priorities have been elsewhere.
As if this day couldn't get any worse, Hunter unlocks our front door and saunters in as if he lived here. He might as well as mom gave him a bedroom a couple of years ago and I wouldn't be surprised if he spent more time here then at his own house. His eyes caught mine and then he looked at Calum and knew better than to interrupt. Instead, he joined me on the couch, sitting a bit too close for my liking.
'What did she find? Drugs? Condoms?' He said with a smirk. 'Nope, none of that thankfully. He's failing school again though.' I replied trying to ignore his stare that I could feel. I kept my attention on the television which was playing on a low volume.
Hunter budged closer to me, putting his arm around the sofa. If possible I sunk further into the couch, wishing it could swallow me up and get me away from the annoying boy. However, my thoughts were disrupted when his voice rang through my ears again, 'How far do you think you can sink into the couch? Because I don't think you can get any further away from me.'
It's as if this boy can read minds! Hunter then made the situation even worse when he wrapped his arms around my waist, lifting me up and wrapping me in blanket before placing me on his lap. 'There we go Bubbles. Now you can't get away.'
And there it was. My nickname that Hunter has used since that first dreaded day we met. We had went out into the yard and Calum got some bubbles out and blew them in my face, making one land on my nose. Hunter blew on it to make it pop and it has been my nickname ever since.
As Hunter is strong from hockey I had no chance of getting out of his grip, so I gave in a got comfy on his lap. Surprisingly, he was comfier than I imagined making it easy to fall into a steady breathing rhythm.
I hadn't slept properly last night as I was reading a new book. Their relationship was so cute that I couldn't stop reading and didn't put the book down until 3am. I drifted further into Hunter's arms, still listening to the arguing coming from the kitchen.
A while later Calum returned to the living room, slumping down on the other side of the couch. He was very clearly annoyed with what had just happened, as he grabbed a cushion and put it over his face.
'Why does she have to care? I'm passing my subjects.'
'Bro your barely passing. You were like one mark over the fail grade last time in bio.' Hunter said in a hushed voice, shifting me so he could face him.
