"We fall in love with people we can't have."

It was that time of the year, spring. When all the cherry blossoms would bloom in the village. All the flowers would bloom, and all the kids would be playing outside.

"Sakura! Wanna go for a walk with me?" Shikamaru asked, as he popped through my window in the living room.

"Oh hey Shikamaru! Umm sure, give me a second though, I'm gonna go change." I informed him and he nodded.

I jogged to my bedroom, and put on a black skirt, with a pink t-shirt, which I tucked into the skirt. I put on my black flats, and then went to the living room, where I found Shikamaru holding a picture of Sasuke, Naruto, Kakashi sensei and I.

"Hey, ready?" I said softly, and he turned to me and smiled. "Yeah, let's go" he replied.

As we walked through the village, we eventually reached an isolated part of a forest in Konoha. As we walked there, Shikamaru and I walked in peaceful silence.

"So, what's going on?" I asked him with a smile, "well... I don't know how to say this Sakura but..." He didn't get to finish his sentence, because Sai suddenly appeared on his bird.

"Sakura, Shikamaru, there's an emergency. Tsunade-Sama is requesting your presence in her office immediately. This is concerning Tae by the way." Sai informed us. We nodded and then began our way to Tsunade-sama.

I knocked on the door and then walked in. There, Tsunade-Sama was holding a piece of paper, her facial expression was worried yet annoyed.

"Tsunade-Sama, we're here." I spoke out. She looked up at us, and then sighed.

"Sakura, Shikamaru, I need you to work on something together. It's a mission. To escort Tae. It seems like his village is being very persistent. So I have no choice." She said.

"What? But I literally just found that he's my brother a few days ago! This can't be happening!" I replied in a panic.

"Sakura, I'm sorry, but it has to happen." She sighed. "The Sand Village wants Tae back. They're offering us the scroll they took from us decades ago." Tsunade explained, while also mentioning something that Tae once explained to me.

"Alright." I sighed, and finally agreed.

"Also, I'm sure Shikamaru and Neji have already told you, but, you'll be in charge of studying Sasuke's poison." Tsunade continued and I nodded.

After talking to Tsunade-Sama with Shikamaru, we decided to leave our separate ways. He seemed a little frustrated, confused. Like he had something to tell me.

Eventually, I finally asked him, "What is it?" I sighed.

"Huh?" He replied.

"What's wrong? Do you have anything you wanna share?" I asked him.

He thought for a moment. "I do, but not right now. I'll see you later, bye" he informed me and then disappeared.

As I arrived to the apartment, I saw Tae, and an Akatsuki guy.

"What's going on here?" I spoke up. As the Akatsuki guy turned around. I recognized him as Itachi.

Sasuke's big brother.

"Sakura, nice to see you again. I've heard a rumor that you were killed, by a curse mark?" He chuckled, thinking it wasn't true.

"I survived it." I replied. His facial expression suddenly changed to serious.

"You mean, someone actually gave you the curse mark? Who was it?" He questioned.

"Your brother." I spat.
