Chapter Five - Don't fear the Reaper

Your brain finally kicked in, and you swiftly pulled out your naginata. You pressed a button, which opened a small compartment that contained an extra black mask. You stopped for a moment and took a deep breath. One. Two. Three. You ripped out the Kraang arm thing, your scream muffled by the staff of your naginata (you had placed it in your mouth beforehand).
Making haste, you wrapped your bandana around the gushing wound. The itching in your brain subsided.

At the sound of your muffled screams and groans, everyone turned to face you.
"Holy shit (Y/N)." Leo breathed out. After making sure that your leg was adequately wrapped, you stood up.
"Glad to see you're not dead as well, Leo." You smirked. Holy shit I wanna cry.
"Donnie, can you tell me if Raph's still in the building?" Leo took the attention away from you. Thank you, Leo.

"Bet your mumma's subatomic particles I am. Got him! He's close. He's almost on top of us. Wait... He is on top of us." You all looked up and found Raph in a weird Kraang cocoon. Your stomach felt as if it were on fire. Something's not right here...
"Raph!" You all call out in varying degrees of emotion.
"Raphael!" Splinter called for his son.
"Quick get him down. Get him out of there." Leo spoke up.

Casey quickly sawed through the vines with his chainsaw hockey stick. The cocoon fell down, and you all rushed to it. Donnie and Mikey began clawing at it.
"Move." You tried to slice through the cocoon but failed to do so. Weak. Your brain hissed.

Leo - the only one with common sense it seemed - grabbed one of his katanas and sliced through the cocoon with ease.
"Hang on, big brother. We got you. Almost there." With the help of his brothers, Leo pulled Raph out of the cocoon. Time stood still as you all waited with baited breath. "Raph?" Leo - who sounded absolutely terrified - softly asked.

Raph opened his eyes, and you almost sighed in relief. Until Leo was sent flying by Raph. Raph surged forward, but you slid in front and tried to stop him from getting closer to Leo. You were also sent flying. It was a similar situation with the others as well.

Pink goop began forming around the snapping alligator turtle. Pink tentacles formed over his hands, and he grew extra spikey. One of his eyes turned yellow, while the other turned a pinky red.
"No." You whispered. Raph scanned, and his gaze landed on the bag in April's lap. Throwing her aside, he grabbed the key.

"Surprise." The Kraang leader emerged from a door behind what was once Raph's cocoon. With tears in his eyes, Mikey glared at the Kraang.
"What did you do to my brother?" He gritted out.
"Improved him." Leo growled and was about to charge until a Kraang subway zombie burst through the ground.

Raph - no Kraang Raph - handed the Kraang the key.
"Thank you for this. We will be putting it to good use. Come, the world awaits destruction." He spoke the last sentence to the other two Kraang. Nodding, the female Kraamg jumped down beside the leader.
"Tear them apart!" After her final words, they all left. Including Kraang Raph.

"We gotta move." April spoke up. You followed the others. However, Leo stayed put.
"Leo, move!" Casey grabbed the red eared slider and dragged him away.
"NO!" Leo cried out. This looks really familiar. A scene of a similar looking Leo flashed through your head. The day they lost their gran-gran. Shaking your head, you ran after the others as Splinter put up a smoke bomb.

You all gazed up from a rooftop as you watched the chaos unfold.
"What do we do now?" Mikey asked, afraid of the answer.
"I fear we are lost. The Kraang are too powerful." Splinter told his son. Leo slumped to his knees.
"There has to be another way, right? What if we-" You were cut off.
"Guys, its time we face facts. We can't change the future." Casey stared at the ground.
"Says who?" Mikey challenged.
"Says the grandfather paradox, says physical determinism, says the space time continuum. Look, I didn't want it to be true but ..." Donnie sighed. "Science."
