Oscar wasn't sure exactly how long he was expecting it to be before he got to see the tiny girl again, but after a few days he had started getting a bit antsy. He had stopped hosting parties at his house out of concern that some dick would find her and hurt her or take her away... Plus, he figured the music might hurt her ears. Would his voice hurt her ears too?
With that in mind, he had become more aware of his volume whilst playing games, and when he felt like he was starting to rage he just looked over at the framed note... Free therapy.
He knew that he shouldn't expect her to come out and say hi to him after how much he had messed up during their first interaction– but after receiving a thank you part of him had thought that she was more down for the idea... Alas, not a single sign of her.
Is she just eating chocolate? She's gonna get sick... Oscar briefly regretted giving her so many M&Ms, but he backtracked quickly. I guess she's living her best life right now. Good for her.
"Oscar..." He barely heard the voice coming from his headphones as he began thinking about the tiny girl again. His heart fluttered again when he imagined her being sick and coming to him for help. Sleeping in his hands peacefully...
That would be adorable...
"Oscar! Fuck– you lost the game for us, you fucking bellend... Are you baked again, mate?" Finally Oscar heard the voice, startled by both it and the 'you lose' screen that had come up, showing that he had died almost twenty times in that round. He blinked, surprised that he had been out of it for almost the entire game, cheeks flushing red with embarrassment.
"My bad, I just ah... had someone on my mind." Hearing the silence that suddenly followed made Oscar realise his mistake a little too late. "Something not someo–"
Too late. Freddie latched onto the slip up immediately, knowing that although Oscar was generally considered a heart throb he had yet to date anyone. Usually in his friend group this resulted in a lot of sympathy and people trying to set him up, but Oscar was never that interested... He didn't usually feel an initial attraction to anyone, so hearing that he was thinking about someone had his friend's alarm bells ringing.
"Is it a chick I know? I can set you up– you know I have pretty much every girl in the school's snap." He spoke with dulled excitement, though Oscar only rolled his eyes at that. Freddie was always bragging about how many girls he knew, but he was pretty sure he hadn't held a conversation with any of them.
"She doesn't go to our school, dumbass." Oscar made the easy mistake of confirming Freddie's theory, which resulted in even more interest. Oscar's cheeks reddened again. I hope she isn't listening...would she even know I'm talking about her?
"Did you make an account on that dating app I told you about? I'm telling you, that shit has the hottest babes on it... Hard to match though, most of them are too entitled." Freddie spouted with confidence, although to Oscar it only sounded like projection. He shook his head again with a sigh.
"No. I don't date. She's just..." He paused, taking a moment to think of how exactly to describe how he felt about her. He hadn't really felt it before, but it was almost like something was pulling him to her... His chest felt tight and his face got hot, and then an oddly tickling sensation spread through his body. But he didn't know if that meant he wanted to date her... He just wanted to talk to her again.
