" I know some people might think I'm selfish or just plainly no good but for Saylonni I would do anything so that's why I'm deciding to turn myself in " I said to my mom as we sat at her table eating breakfast Saylonni sat next to me holding my hand happy that I was finally just going to take this time and be done with the streets and I was honestly happy about it too I knew that this would be good for me and that I wouldn't be able to live like this forever I was hoping that the judge wouldn't give me life but I knew that was possibility but I didn't tell Saylonni any of this because I didn't want her to worry besides she was almost due and I didn't want anything going wrong wit her or my baby life was going to go good I knew she was tired of running and being scared and I was tired of having to watch my family go through this so I knew this time I was truly ready for change
"Well I don't think you should turn yourself in besides who's going to pay for this house " my selfish ass mama responded
Saylonni stared at her with a disgust look I knew that she held her tongue for my mama
"Mama that's your damn problem all you ever do is worry about yourself and your happiness and anybody who gets happy about seeing someone not living to their full potential is just miserable and should be cut off I swear to you when I go to jail all my funds are being left with Saylonni and my kids so you really will have to figure out who's gonna pay for this shit "
I said balling my fist against the table I watched as Saylonni placed her hand over my fist to keep me calm simply because she knew what I was capable of
My mom sat there in shock as I got up and stormed out with Saylonni right behind me
"I'm glad that you finally stood up to her and decided to forget about the streets " she said looking up at me with a slight smile
I looked down at her and over all her features on her face I was honestly so in love with this women she was truly ride or die and I knew that I would need to keep her in my life
"We're gonna stay at your house tonight baby " I said making her smile ever bigger because she had been begging me to come home with her and Nermonni
I tapped her lips with mine softly then helped her into the car heading to my house to get a couple things before we went over to hers
Getting out of the car I headed into the house and up the stairs grabbing my glock and some money also some pajama shorts then walking back outside but making sure to lock my doors
I hopped into the car and started it
"Did you get the cookies ?" Nermonni asked kicking her feet excitedly
"Aw man I forgot em" I said before getting back out the car and heading inside I grabbed the cookies and the orange juice too because I knew that Saylonni only had apple juice and that shit is wack
Then I walked back outside locking my doors I walked down the driveway and before I could take another step I heard shots start to ring out
Suddenly I felt my side start to burn then my leg indicating that I had been hit I fell to the ground and listened to Saylonni's voice tremble

Nero had just been shot like 50 times it seemed like he was bleeding out of everywhere and I didn't know what to do I cried as he coughed up blood and struggled to speak to me
I held him close and screamed for help as I watched as several neighbors came out but no one did anything they just watched as if he was nothing my childrens father ... my everything I knew he was gone .
