The Race Car Driver

Chapter 1

Yoko's POV

It's been 3 years since I set foot here in Thailand, I've been living in the US because of my job, I am a journalist which I specialize in writing about sports event.

As much as I love living abroad I have decided to return to Thailand to escape my cheating ex-boyfriend rather ex-fiance.

Grabbing my luggages I walked towards the arrival area and waited for my cab to arrive. I haven't told my elder sister that I am going home since this is a sudden decision of mine and I have not told her about what my ass of an hole ex-fiancee did which I'm sure that would unleash the beast in her.

After a few minutes my ride came and the old man greeted me and help me carry my luggages, about 20 minutes I have arrived home, how much I miss this house, a surge of memories flash through my mind, my childhood, my parents, my teenager years, the petty fights with my sister and of course the love we have as a family.

Fishing the keys in my handbag I unlocked the door, dragging my luggages inside I slump my tired body on the couch after making sure that I have lock the front door, before even sleep consumes me I went to my old room, without turning on the lights I laid my body on the bed then covering myself with the duvet which surprisingly brings me comfort, smelling the scent I find it weird since it kinda smell strong something muscular but it lulled me to sleep then I'm off to dreamland.

Faye's POV

Morning jog is my favorite thing to do to start my day. After finishing a lap I have decided to go home and eat my breakfast.

Since it's off season this is my daily routine, I'll run some errands by the afternoon and then help my cousin Engfa manage her bar.

I was confused when I saw luggages when I entered the place where I am currently renting, I have found this place 2 years ago when I have decided to stay here in Thailand and good thing that Charlotte the owner of the house which a good friend of mine offered to let me stay here for free but I refuse and I insist to pay the rent.

The room I am currently renting belongs to her little sister which is staying in the US. Still confused I shrugged my way to my room, opening the dim light I was shocked when I saw someone laying down in my bed, I quietly walk towards the figure and I couldn't help but smile when I recognize who's sleeping in my bed, Yoko.

I have known her since Charlotte tells me about her, rather force her to tell me about her I admit that when I first saw her picture, I have a crush on her but I kept it to myself since Charlotte would whack me for sure.

I was just staring at her and I know it is rude and kinda creepy but I can't help it she's more beautiful in person those pictures I have seen brings no justice with the beauty in front of me.

When I realized that I have been staring too much I straightened up fixed her blanket, turned off the light and with a smile to my face I quietly exit the room after grabbing some clothes and towel with a last look towards the sleeping beauty on my I started my day.

Yoko's POV

What a wonderful sleep I had. I slowly got but while stretching my aching body I was startled when someone barge into my room it none other that my sister Charlotte.

"Yoki, my baby" she exclaimed throwing her body at me for a hug. Since I am still in daze I let my sister hugged me.

"I miss you so much Yoko" Charlotte says still hugging me.

"I miss you too Char, I missed you a lot" I said hugging her back. We stayed in that position for quite awhile, then Charlotte stood up to open the lights and I was quite surprise since I saw some unfamiliar things inside my room and Charlotte may have notice the confusion in my face.

"I'm sorry Yoko, I have not told you that I have your room rented with Faye" Charlotte says looking guilty.

"Faye?" I said asking her who is Faye.

"A friend of mine" she answers.

"Give her a week or two so she can move out" Char stated.

"No need Char, I can just share a room with you. I have come here unannounced so it's totally fine" I said smiling.

"Are you sure?" Charlotte asked which I nod my head as an answer.

"How long was I sleeping?" I said since I could feel the soreness of my body.

"Well you've been sleeping for 12 hours straight, when I received a messaged from Faye that you are here I hurried back I was about to wake you up but I saw you sleeping deeply and I don't have a heart to wake up a girl who came from a long flight or else it will be war" Char stated teasing me. I rolled my eyes at her remarks.

"If I have slept that long where does your friend sleep?" I curiously asked.

"Poor Faye's been sleeping at the sofa on the living room, when I came in to check on you by midnight I saw her having a hard time sleeping since she's tall and she doesn't fit on the sofa" she said laughing a little.

"Oh my God why didn't you wake me up then?" I said embarrassed.

"I was about to wake you up but Faye said not to and to let you sleep on her bed for as long as you want" Charlotte said smiling. I don't know but my heart skipped a beat hearing that she sacrificed a goodnight sleep on her comfy bed just for me. I was lost in my thoughts when stomach growled. Ugh I'm hungry.

"Come on let's eat, sure you're hungry after your hibernation" Charlotte teased grabbing my hand as she led me towards the dining area.
