Yuto had experienced situations that would seem absurd to ordinary humans, so it was easy for him to remain calm compared to others who got caught up in the excitement or became too agitated for hype, fantasising among them to defeat the Demon King and get a harem of women.
Goddamn pervs.
Yuto kept calm and stayed composed, mentally analysing the situation. The knights were many and well-equipped and the magicians seemed skilful. However, they were still not enough to worry him. He was sure that his swords could pierce through the heavy armour worn by the royal knights.
He had two options: he could kill everyone or play along. The first would allow him to leave without too much trouble but he would not get information about his current situation while the second option would allow him to get important information but there was a possibility that the information was falsified or at least incomplete. As always, the best solution was in the middle.
Yuto took a few steps towards their summoners.
The magic circuits flashed on his arm. "Trace On."
Under the incredulous eyes of his classmates, the swords began to appear floating around him, threatening the rulers.
"What the hell is this?" Sugawara murmured, hesitantly approaching Yuto. "This is magic... but when..."
"All my life," Yuto replied, glancing at the ruler. "Magic also exists and I am a practitioner."
Returning to the point, to make sure that no lies were told, Yuto also released the killing intent that brought down the soldiers who had already drawn their swords. He also made sure that others were not injured or taken hostage.
"You're slow," Yuto said, firing his sword at some magicians who were about to cast their spells and ruthlessly kill them.
All his classmates were petrified. Although Yuto was never an example of sociality, this was far from what anyone would have expected. But the truth was that the person who was at school was just an act to hide who he was: a magus killer. And since they had ended up in the middle of a congress of king, queen, knights and magicians, Yuto no longer saw the need to wear that mask.
"I don't want unnecessary bloodshed, so please get straight to the point," Yuto said, focusing again on who was in charge. "Why should I help a kingdom that summoned me against my will? What do I gain?"
"Damn brat like..." The knight stopped when Yuto's icy gaze crossed his eyes, causing his instinct to stop.
"You are right. You are not obligated, but we need warriors who can turn the tables on a situation that has become untenable," the Queen spoke, in an elegant and composed tone and yet the gentle look of someone who understood their situation. "We have always relied on the strength of our army and the magicians of the Royal Magic Academy so far, but recently the assaults of the Army of Darkness have intensified."
"What is this army of darkness?" Yuto asked immediately afterwards.
"According to legend, they were once human, but the God of Darkness contaminated their hearts and turned them into mindless beasts capable only of destroying everything," Queen Melusine replied. "And their leader is the Dark King Zephyros."
According to the legend told by the queen, the Dark King Zephyros was the first human being to be turned into a demon. According to legend, he was the first king of Eagrenad, the same kingdom where Yuto and the others were now.
"According to legend, he divided his heart into five parts and hid it in as many dungeons protected by a guardian," Queen Melusine told as a three-dimensional map of that world magically appears over the heads of the heroes summoned. "The four red dots are respectively our kingdom, the dwarf kingdom, the elf kingdom, and lastly the demonic continent."
