The sound of a phone ringing echoed through the house, causing Dean to practically jump out of the bed. Which, strangely enough, didn't cause Cas to even twitch where he was lying beside him. His hand grabbed for his phone which was sitting on the nightstand vibrating. As he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, he pressed the phone to his ear, not even checking the caller ID to see who was calling at 9 in the morning.
"Hello?", he asked groggily, stifling a yawn as the person on the other side began to speak.
"Dean, hey.", a deep voice said, causing him to suddenly sit up straight, all of his attention being directed to the man on the other line.
"Sammy?", he asked, his tone serious as if he hadn't spoken to him in years. "Why are you calling so early?"
Silence stretched on for what seemed like hours before the sound of Sam's breathing came through the speaker, followed by a woman's voice.
"Come back to bed, Sam.", she said, her voice sounding as if she'd just woken up. Like Dean.
Once again, nothing came through the speaker. Dean turned his head to look at Cas, whose blue eyes were locked tight on him, his hand resting on Dean's leg. His mouth turned up at the corners into a smile as he reached up to cup his cheek, gazing intently into his eyes. For a moment, he forgot he was on the phone. That is until Sam began to speak again, making Dean nearly jump out of his skin.
"I wanted to know if you and Cas wanted to come over for breakfast. And Grace, of course.", he quickly replied, not even pausing to take a breath in between words.
After Dean had finally relaxed, he pressed the phone against his shoulder, making it so that Sam couldn't hear their conversation. Cas propped himself up on his elbow to get closer to him, his eyes darting from his lips to his eyes as he spoke.
"Sammy wants to know if we wanna join him for breakfast. You okay with that?", he asked him, his tone soft and gentle.
"Breakfast at your brother's house? I'd be delighted.", he said, lifting himself off the bed to press his lips against Dean's, pulling away a few seconds later to lie back down on the mattress.
"You're crazy, you know that?", he asked, laughing before lifting the receiver to his ear once again.
"We would be honored to join you for breakfast. Unless, of course, you're having tea and crumpets. Then I might just have to pass.", he replied, his tone sarcastic as he heard Sam laugh on the other line.
"No, nothing like that, Dean. Besides, we're having pie.", he said, a teasing tone to his voice as if he wanted to bribe his brother with one of the many things he loved: pie.
"Ha ha, very funny Sammy."
"Hey, I learned from the best."
Dean smiled before hanging up the phone, placing it back on the mount which was resting on the nightstand. He wiped the sleep from his eyes once again before lying back down beside his fiance, his eyes only inches away from his. Cas grinned as he moved closer, their bodies touching.
"I guess we're going out for breakfast.", Dean said in a disappointed voice, the space between them unchanging.
"I guess so.", Cas replied, his blue eyes catching Dean's attention.
"I guess this means you won't be getting the breakfast I had planned for you."
"And I guess this means you won't be getting the breakfast I planned for you either."
"How about we just have a quick snack before we get ready?"
"I'd like that.", Cas said with a smile, his arms wrapping around Dean's waist as he pulled him close, their lips locking together as they rolled across the bed.
