Sam took Azazel's arm in his hands, his mouth inches from the blood on the surface of his skin. He slowly looked up at the yellow eyed demon. And as he did so, he felt a smirk spread across his face. Because for the first time in his life, he actually felt in control. So, as he stared up at the same man who had once turned him into a demon himself, he decided to do something Dean would've never thought he would do.

He pushed the demon's arm away, straightening his back so that he rose above him.

"No.", he said in a harsh tone, reaching for the knife that happened to be strapped to his side at all times.

"What did you just say to me?", Azazel asked, an angry expression forming on his face.

"I said 'no'.", he replied, and with a quick flick of his wrist, the knife collided with the demon's throat, blood spilling onto the carpet at his feet.

He saw the demon's head bang against the floor, a snapping sound coming from his neck. And as he saw this, he could feel his shoulders finally rest. It's over, he told himself. He's dead. You don't have to worry anymore.

He turned to look at his brother who was now standing in the doorway, Grace in his arms and Castiel at his side. Their eyes darted to Azazel's corpse on the floor and then to Sam. Dean's eyes were wide with surprise.

"Sammy, I...-", he began.

"Save it, Dean.", Sam replied, walking over to the doorway where they stood. "I can't believe you actually thought I would do that to myself again. I mean, after all I've been through? I thought you of all people would understand.", he said, sighing as he approached the front door.

"And I do...", Dean started, slowly handing the baby over to Cas before cautiously walking towards his brother. "I just thought that...-"

"What, Dean?", he spun around, anger in his voice. "That I would just throw my life away to be with a bunch of demons? That I would rather be all hyped up on demon blood than watch my niece grow up?"

"Sammy...I didn't mean-"

"NO, that's exactly what you meant! You thought I would just return to the way I was when Ruby was around? I'm not that guy anymore, Dean!"

"Dammit Sam! Will you just hear me out?"

"No, Dean...I won't.", he hissed, turning the door knob before walking out onto the porch, the door slamming behind him.

"SAMMY!", Dean shouted, making his way the door before being stopped by a hand on his forearm.

He looked behind him to see his fiancé, his icy blue eyes locked on his.

"Dean...", he said in a low voice, stopping him from chasing after his brother. "He needs some space."

Dean stared back at him, an angry expression on his face. He quickly tore his arm away from Cas before storming into the kitchen, his shoes pounding on the floor with every step.

Cas sighed before sitting down on the couch, Grace still in his arms as rocked her back and forth.

"Don't mind them, this kind of stuff happens all the time.", he said, smiling down at the baby in his arms. "Boys will be boys..."

Her eyes fluttered open at the sound of her father's voice, her bright green eyes looking up at him. Cas' smile got bigger as he thought of how her and Dean happened to have the exact same eyes. Of course, they weren't exactly the same. Hers had little flicks of gold while her father's had traces of brown.
