Nohara Rin eagerly awaited the opportunity to match another wealthy family, but when her office door was barge through, she paused.

"Hello?" She placed the profile of the two potential matches down on her office desk and glared up at none other than an irked Uchiha Sasuke.

"What did Sakura and my mother say to you?"

"Seriously!" She leaped from her desk, slamming both hands against it with enough force to split the wood and topple her stack of scrolls onto the floor below. "I told them to keep quiet!"

"So, it's true they came to both you and Tsunade!" What in the world was their end goal?

She sighed sitting back down, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Have a seat." She gestured for him to follow her instructions. Once he had a seat she began to speak slowly and concisely to him.

"While you were on that escort mission I as well as Tsunade was approached by the Haruno clan as well as your parents-" He attempted to speak but was silenced by her hand.

"Both households believe you to be the father of Sakura's unborn child. These are serious accusations if the child is proven to be yours that is fair grounds for both parties to come to an understanding. This means both heads of household can come to an agreement that would please both parties. That agreement is a marriage that could possibly make your previous marriage invalid, both parties are from wealthy backgrounds, and Naruto has no living family members nor status, so can you see my dilemma?"

He crossed his arms huffily. He was in disbelief. "Unfortunately, the accusations had gotten out of hand the majority believes you are the father and that you took advantage of Sakura, deflowering her and kicking her to the side."

"I never touched her! I can't believe she would stoop this low. And what of Naruto huh? I'm pretty sure they know he carrying my child!" Should the rumor get back to Naruto, would he believe it? 

Would he divorce him?

Would he hate him? 

Would he take the baby and run away with his brother? 

He felt like his lungs were being crushed by the weight of fear overwhelming him entirely.

As the irritational thoughts filled his mind his body went stiff. He didn't want to lose the one good thing going for him. There was no denying Naruto was irritating, obnoxious, and crude,  but he was loyal, kind, selfless, and oh-so awe-consuming.

Observing the raven sitting across from her, Rin noticed that his body started rocking. Her eyes were drawn to his clenched hands as tears dropped on them and when her orbs looked up she saw the tears begin to flow down his cheeks.

This wasn't just a couple of escape tears; he was truly crying, with his head blanketed by his bangs. Rin felt sympatric to his plight.

"I knew it... It was only a matter of time before...I-I'd wake up. I don't want to lose him. I don't want to lose my family!" He hated himself more for crying but he couldn't stop once it started. It felt like he was struck in the gut.
