At the Owl City department of justice, Miles Edgeworth, prosecuting attorney, arrives to meet with his husband Phoenix Wright, his friend Maya Fey and their daughter Trucy after a long flight from his home country of Japaniforina. They were brought here to investigate a murder.

"Wright, we're here!" He bellows up the main stairway of the justice building.

A blue man comes down the stairs, seemingly cheerful but with concern in his eyes. He shakes Edgeworth's hand, and frowns. "This is truly a strange case, Edgeworth."
"Anonymous witnesses aren't exactly common," nods Miles.
"None should know better than I," sighs Wright. "Can I share what we know so far?"

Moments later, sitting in Wright's rented out office, Edgeworth listens with narrowed eyes. His friends sit beside him, listening intently as Wright relates the facts of the case.

"A few days ago, on Christmas Eve, an unauthorized literature club was operating at the Owatonna Community College, outside of school supervision. There were a total of five students in this club, four young women and a man named Adam."

Edgeworth frowned upon hearing Adam's name, to which Wright responded;

"At least he's willing to testify...even if his real identity has to be hidden the whole time."

Edgeworth growled, "Tell the police we're gonna need more than his first name."

"I'm sorry Edgeworth, all we've been able to deduce is his first name."

Edgeworth glared, but then asked, "What has Adam testified so far?"

"According to Adam's testimony, there were four girls in the club: Sayori, Yuri, Monika, and Natsuki. Yuri was a skilled writer, twenty-four years of age. Monika was twenty, known for her academic excellence in sports and other fields. Natsuki was twenty-one and acing her classes. Sayori, age twenty, strangely enough, was reported by Adam to have been there in the days before the murder, but her name is suspiciously absent from all our records, as if she doesn't exist."

Wright spoke gravely, "Yuri was found dead on the floor and Adam was the first one to find her body. Afterwards Natsuki walked in, barfed at the sight, and ran away."

Edgeworth interjected. "Why is Adam our only witness? Couldn't this young lady testify?"

"I'd love to get Natsuki's testimony, but ever since the incident she's been missing. The police can't find her anywhere."

Edgeworth crossed his arms, "Please continue."

Wright went on. "After Natsuki ran from the scene, Monika stepped into the room. She snapped her fingers and walked Adam away from the room, into the hallway. Afterwards, she spent the night in an empty classroom flirting with Adam and monologuing about a number of things. Adam called the police after hours of this and the cops arrested Monika on the spot. He was then taken as our witness and interrogated before being set free."

"I've no proof, but I suspect he's Adam Young, mayor of Owl City, and that he's used his political favor with the Owatonna cops to remain anonymous and avoid public attention."

Edgeworth sighs deeply, and begins pacing the room. "It happened in a university of all places. A bastion of cultural knowledge. The students have their petty squabbles, but murder? A very strange incident indeed." Edgeworth continued, "Isn't it possible that this "Adam" was the killer?"

"The chief of police disagrees with that notion, Edgeworth. Monika's fingerprints were found at the scene of the crime during the investigation. Hence, why Monika was jailed yesterday and tossed into the experimental prison dimension that was set up in Gravity Falls. I believe she's the first one there."Edgeworth nods. "I see," he says, and sits down again. His fingers drum on the table.
