Day 5

I woke up feeling so light today. That's probably because I'm so excited to see if Gayle will be able to recognize and trust me because of the picture we've taken yesterday.

So, at six in the morning, I'm already getting myself ready I plan to ask her to join me for a walk. Well, I actually want to jog but you know, with my condition I don't think it will end well. So, let's just stick to walking. We can also take Luna with us if she wants to.

Before I head out of my room, I looked at myself in the mirror first and fixed my hair. There you go, I already look good, I guess.

While I was walking towards Gayle's house, I was humming my favorite song because I'm in a good mood although I'm a little bit nervous. I am seriously crossing my fingers right now, hoping that she won't ask the same question she had been asking me since day one, the who are you question. I am not tired of introducing myself to her but I would feel happy if she'll be able to recognize me as soon as she sees me. It will also save me some effort.

I knocked on her door three times and waited until she finally opened the door. "Good morning," I greeted her with a wide smile. She looked at me closely as if she was trying to figure out who I was.

Then she said, "Angelica Jhane Gegante?" And dude, I literally jumped out of joy which surprised her-or more like confused her. She was looking at me like I was an idiot but she have no idea how happy I am that she was able to say my name.

"Yes! I am Angelica Jhane Gegante, your friend," I said and I mindlessly hugged her tightly. When I let go of her, she had that confusion written all over her face again. My gosh, she's so adorable when she looks like that.

"Uh, are you really my friend?" She asked. I nodded and said, "Yeah, and I uh, I want to ask if you would like to join me for a walk. Luna would love to join too." I was crossing my finger, hoping she'd agree. Then, I suddenly saw Luna running to me. She barked and jumped at me so, I carried him. Gayle was watching us as if she was trying to analyze the situation.

"See? Luna is also excited to go for a walk. So, can you please join me?" I said and pouted, trying to use my charms on her but she just started laughing. Then she said, "Stop that, you look like an idiot." That took me by surprise. Did I just make her laugh?

"Okay, okay, I'll just change my clothes. You can come in. Just wait for me," She said and led me inside her house. I put Luna down and we walked in. She headed straight to her room while I decided to take a seat.

The dog jumped on my lap and licked my face. I just giggled and told her to stop but she wouldn't budge so I just let her be. I saw one of the toys I bought for her and I gave it to her. She barked and she happily played with it. I patted her head and she waggled her tail. I'm so glad she seems to like it so much.

When Gayle got out, she was already wearing shorts and a sweatshirt. She also tied her hair in a high ponytail. Damn, why does she looks so hot? I didn't notice I was staring at her for a long time until she said, "I'm ready, let's go?" I blinked and replied, "Yeah, let's go."

She called Luna and the girl ran towards her. She put a leash on Luna and then we headed out together. She locked the door first before we left. Gayle started jogging with Luna but I was just walking. When she realized that I was a little far behind them, she looked back and called me.

"Angelica, why are you so slow?" She asked, almost yelling so I could hear. Then I replied with the same volume, saying, "Because I can't run. I mean, I can but it's probably going to be torture later."

She waited for me to get to them before she asked, "Why? What do you mean? I thought you asked me to join you because we're going to do this?" I shook my head before saying, "I only said walking. I didn't mean that we would be jogging because it would tire my heart easily. Walking is safer for me, I'm sorry."

"You have asthma?" She asked with that adorable confused look again. I chuckled giggled and said, "No silly, I have a heart disease." She gasped and her expression softened.

"Really? I'm sorry to hear that." I held her shoulder, then I said, "Nah, it's okay. I've already accepted my condition. Anyway, let's not talk about it. The most important thing is for us to have fun." I don't want to see that expression again. It's the same face that my mom have whenever she look at me.

"Okay, we'll do it at your pace then," she smiled and held my wrist as we start walking again.

"Angelica, how did we became friends?" She suddenly asks. I took a deep breath and said, "Before anything else, you can just call me Angge. I think Angelica is too long. To be honest I don't know how to explain it but since my first day here, I've been talking to you already."

"Huh? You mean you weren't from here?" She asked quizzically. I nodded before saying, "Yes. I'm from Manila. I'm just here for a vacation and I'll only be here for a month. Today is actually just my fifth day staying here. So far, I've been enjoying my stay and that's probably because of you."

Her eyes widen and she looked away. Then she said, "Me? Why me?"

"Because if it weren't for you, being here would be so boring. I just like hanging out with you," I said and smiled at her genuinely.

"But I forget things every day, don't you get frustrated?" She asked. I shook my head before saying, "Nah, I know you already forgot but I already said that I won't get tired of telling you the same things over and over again."

I was taken aback when she suddenly held my hand. I looked at her confusedly but she smiled and said, "Now, I know why you became my friend."

"Huh?"

"You're so nice. No wonder even Luna likes you a lot. Hey look, let's grab some waffles!" She said enthusiastically and she was about to drag me but she paused when she realized that I shouldn't be running. She apologized and I told her that it was fine.

Then we went to the waffle stall and bought ourselves some. We also bought some water before we continued walking. Actually, I have no idea where we are going but I don't think it matters. Wherever with Gayle would probably be a perfect place. I-I mean it's going to be fun if it's with her.

We ended up going to the bay walk and watched as the sun completely rise to the sky.

From that on, our day went so well. Later on, we hang out at her place again and we watched movies. I actually have been wanting to ask her how she got her disease but I would sound rude or something. Besides, she could've forgotten about it as well.
