Rebellion

Do you even care what you've done to me
Made it harder and harder to even breathe
I hope you know that I'm not staying
I don't understand any of the bullshit that you're saying

You say I should respect you
Yeah you say that I don't care
But when I needed you most
I couldn't find you anywhere

And now I'm apologizing
For something that you did
I hope you know I'm crying
This isn't how you raise a kid

You've done things that I cannot forgive

The world only revolves around you
Everything else is just against it
You're the center of attention
I bet my mom regrets it

You misogynistic ways
And how I'm forced to spend my days
Wishing and begging a god I don't believe
To strike me down and get me out so that the problem isn't me

You close your eyes and see the girl you want me to be
But what you refuse to know is that's not the boy I've grown to be
You're scared to be wrong so you turn a blind eye
And leave me thirsting in this desert and ready to die

You only care about how I would make you look
You live your life directly from an ancient book
You don't listen to what the women in the family say
You love the boys and tell us that we must live life your way

You don't bat an eye at my suffering but when I refuse to pray
You do everything you can so I'm not led astray
You keep my from the ones I love all the time
Production is the only thing you need and I need to stay in line

You raised a rebel and it's time you finally see
That that rebel isn't only going to be me
