I walked out into the living room and put on my air forces and book bag. "before you go, eat." my brother called out. i walked over and sat down at the table. he slid a plate of eggs and toast over to me. i began to eat when i noticed him staring at me with a serious look on his face. "you good?" i said jokingly. "who was that kid you were with at the gas station?" he said. fuck, i forgot his friend worked there. i stared at him with a nervous expression. my palms got sweaty and i stayed quiet. "just a friend from school, ive known him since like the third grade." i lied. he didnt look pleased. "i dont want you talking to him." he said. i didnt say anything and just nodded my head. i walked out of the door and cut through the grass to the side walk. why did he want me to stay away? as i walked down the side walk i saw a black impala trailing beside me. i looked over and saw sapo. he rolled down the window and offered me a ride. i thought about what my brother said before i decided. what could be so bad about being with him? i walked over and got in. he smiled and started driving. "headed to school?" he said turning on the ac. it was a warm day outside, the sun was shining and the grass was green. everything felt so much brighter and better when i was with sapo.  we kept a conversation going for a while until we finally arrived at school.  he got out of the car walked around and opened the door for me. i stepped out and gave him a kiss. "have a good day at school." he said. i gave him a confused look and said "aren't you coming with me?" he looked off to the side and said "i don't think its a good idea." "well its your decision. i wont judge. but can we hang out after school?" i said. "of course hermosa." he gave me one last kiss and i turned around and walked off into school.
