Chapter 7

the day was hell. everything was just dragging on and on. I tried to focus and take notes but it was difficult considering sapo was constantly on my mind.

i longed for his touch. he made me feel warm and safe inside.

it was seventh period and about 10 minutes before the bell rang. math was always my least favorite subject considering i wasn't great at it.

i received texts from three people. the first 2 weren't surprising just my brother and Sapo. what i didn't expect was a text from Cesar.

i stared at my phone for a second but then opened it.

Cesar: Y/n i think we should talk. are you free after school?

i stared at his message.

i really didn't want to respond but i knew it had to. i texted back with a simple no but told him to come to my place around 7.

i put my phone away and waited out the final minutes of class.

Finally the bell rang and everyone rushed out of the classroom. i gathered my stuff and walked out the door.

my school had long wide hallways and they were very crowded. Monse came up to me and we started talking. we left the school and she waited for her dad.

i looked up and saw Sapo, waiting in his car.

i told Monse i was leaving and opened the car door. she looked confused but didn't question anything.

I opened the door and hopped in.

"hey mamas how was school?" sapo asked. i turned on the radio and said "it was sooooo boring the day lasted too long." he laughed. "im taking you out to eat hermosa."

i looked at him confused. "so is this a first date?" i said.

he looked at me and smiled. "yeah i guess it is."
