September 2nd 1975
Lilith woke from the sunlight flooding the dorm. Alicia drew back the curtains. She was an early bird, hence already dressed and styled. Lilith was an early bird herself, but nothing compared to her. The girl hadn't gotten much sleep. Nonetheless, she felt fresh and more awake than in the past weeks. She still had plenty of time to get ready and start by taking a shower. Lilith preferred to take cold showers in the morning and then to let her hair dry with a specific potion she created back in her second year while she read a book. Then she combed it and brushed her teeth before she changed into her school uniform. She created a potion in her second year to dry her hair while reading a book. After drying her hair, she combed it, brushed her teeth, and changed into her school uniform. Once dressed up in her tie, she goes over to wake Pandora, who's still sound asleep.
"Dora, you have to get up. It's already past breakfast time," Lilith told her in a soft voice. It was a lie, of course. Pandora and Lilith agreed to never tell each other the correct time. They both knew the other girl was lying, but the anxiety of being late or missing a class was high enough to wake them, no matter what.
Pandora got up, nearly head-butting Lilith. While Pandora was getting ready, Lilith sat back on her bed to continue her book. When her friend was ready, they went down to the Great Hall together. A few of their housemates were already having breakfast.
They sat down next to Alicia, and Lilith grabbed herself a slice of bread and strawberry marmalade. "Morning," Alicia greeted them. "When did you get up? Normally, we're here before you two," Pandora asked. "Oh, yeah, I was pretty down last night, so my sister took care of me," Alicia motioned to Stella, her sister, who was sitting opposite her.
"Oh. Did something happen to that boyfriend of yours?" Pandora questioned with sympathetic eyes. Alicia nodded. "We're so sorry. We didn't notice," Lilith apologized after she finished her first slice. Pandora lay her arm around Alicia's shoulder to comfort her. The girl fought back her tears. "How was the Slytherin's party?"
"It was great. We danced most of the time," Lilith told her. "Sounds great indeed." Alicia smiled slightly. "What's our first class? I already forgot again."
"Charms with Flitwick."
They finished breakfast and due to it being the first day of class with everyone, they didn't have much time to go to the library. The classroom was exactly like Lilith remembered. Every year the same four walls. The same wooden floor and the same three rows of wooden desks. She loved it.
Professor Flitwick stood already in front of the class, writing something on the blackboard. Lilith could make out the word' accio. The summoning charm, Lilith figured. She got excited because this was most useful to her.
First, Flitwick told them about the history of this spell and showed them how to cast it. Then they tried for themselves. Lilith had listened and observed. She got it right on the first try. That earned her ten points for Ravenclaw and her house head's praise.
The class tried until eventually most of the students got it right. The day went by like this until finally, the last class of the day was about to start. Potions with Professor Slughorn and the Slytherins. Lilith could already make out Dorcas and Regulus next to the classroom door. Pandora waved at them and they straight up went over to them. Only when they were nearly there, Lilith spotted Evan and Barty.
"Hey," she greeted them. They smiled in response. Dorcas hugged her. Before they got a chance to chat, the door opened, and the students got inside to get a good cauldron. The friend group had already discussed partnering up at lunchtime. Pandora and Regulus. Barty and Evan. Dorcas and Lilith.
The lesson went by in a rush. Dorcas and Lilith were brilliant partners. Lilith gave most of the instructions, and Dorcas was very precise. Both were exceptionally skilled witches.
