"Ow." I roll over onto my stomach. "My back hurts." Calvin: Benito. She is awake. "Why are these wires on me?" Benito: I was checking everything to make sure you were okay. Your mom is breathing fine and you are fine I think. You said your back hurts? "Yeah. I feel like something is sticking me like something sharp. It just hurts." Benito: May I? I look at him then lift my shirt up on the back.
Benito: Calvin. "What's wrong? Is something wrong?" A hand touches my back softly and rubs the middle. Benito: What is it? A flower? Calvin: I'm not sure. "A flower? Great this is the part where you tell me I am a vampire plant right?" Calvin: Your back is really warm and in the middle it's a circle. It did feel kinda sharp. It's kinda greenish and red.
"So.." Benito: We ignore it and monitor it. Then we figure out what it could be as we monitor it. Calvin: I feel like I have seen that before. But I have to get back home. I'll come back. Benito: Okay. Thanks for the help. Bye. Calvin: Bye. I pull my shirt down and sit up straight. "What now?" Benito: Hungry? "Actually no." Benito smiles. Benito: I have snacks that will actually fill you unless you want blood. Then I have to go get it. "I'd like snacks please."
When he comes back with a basket of snacks I ask him to take the wires off. Benito: So want to go watch a movie or something? "Yeah sure but can I ask you something?" Benito: Go ahead. He carries the basket and I walk with him. We enter a room almost like a movie theater. "This is so cool. Only why couches instead of the rows of chairs like a movie theater?" Benito: This a home. Not the movie theater. But it's the idea of a movie theater though.
He starts a movie and we sit on the couch. Benito: So what did you want to ask? "Oh um.. It wasn't anything important I just.." The phone rings. Benito: You can tell me. It probably isn't important. I barely get calls. "No answer. I can wait." He leaves and answers the phone. He speaks low and I can't hear the conversation. I don't really want to but I feel like he is hiding a lot about himself.
Benito takes a deep breathe and sits down. Benito: Soo um.. Where were we? Your question, right? "Never mind." Benito: Are you sure? Ask me anything. I look at him. "Can we watch the movie?" Benito: Alright. He smiles and gets a bag of chips.
When the movie ends we goes into another room and comes out with clothes. "I can just sleep in this and wash it or go home and get clothes." Benito: I do not want you going out with what you did the first time. You don't remember because I hit you with a spell and I don't ever want to do that again. "Okay. You come into my life and now you are trying to tell me what I did but you put a spell on me so I can't remember then you tell me you don't want me to leave?" Benito: I have no reason to lie. "Where do I sleep?" Benito: Um.. This room. He opens the door. I go in the room. "Good night." Benito: Make yourself at home.
I close the door and go to the window. Time to start planning to leave. I look down and see that I can jump out the window it's not even a jump. We are on the ground. I open the window and step out closing it with just a crack so I can get back inside.
A car light comes as I start walking around. I hide behind a bush and walk quietly as I can until I get to a wall and lean over to see the car.
They knock on the door. A guy. Benito opens the door. Benito: What are you doing here? I listen as they and when he goes to leave I climb back through the window. Benito is keeping secrets and I have to find out what he really is. A vampire, something else and he is magical. I sit on the bed looking at the sky until I fall asleep.
In my dream:
Dad: You have to leave. "But I don't know how. Mom is there and I can't lose her too." Dad: You can come back for her. I'll watch over her. "But what can you actually do if something goes wrong with her? Wait..."
I look around. "Dad?" He doesn't answer. I wake up and sit up. When I look out the window someone is outside of it. I go to the window and no one is there.
Benito comes in the room and has my mom in his arms. "What are you doing?" Benito: You have to go. Someone is coming. I don't want them to find you. You'll be in danger. I'll be okay. "You look really tired and how am I supposed to keep my mom alive?" Benito: Take her to a hospital. I don't care. Just get some things and go.
"I can help you." Just tell me what to do. I wanted to go home but I can't with out my mom awake and helping me. I can't go through these changes alone." He sits my mom on the bed and lifts her up wrapping her in a blanket.
He sits her in front of me and hands me part of the blanket. Benito: Good bye. "I don't understand." Something hits the window. Benito: Go. The window opens and dad comes through.
"Dad?" Dad: I told you to get away from him. He is not as innocent as you might think. Come on. I'll help you. "What? How? I'm dreaming. I'm dreaming. Wake up. Pinch me." Dad looks at me. Benito and my dad start to argue. Mom gasps for air and then stops. "Mom? Mom!" I feel her chest then her wrist for a pulse.
"Nicole! Wake up!" Benito: I'm a wizard, and a vampire. That's it. I moved here and my parents work with someone that is very bad. Dad: Were you planning to kill them? You turned my daughter into a vampire. Benito: Why didn't she know she was part angel? "What?" They look at me and Benito starts walking to me. Dad pulls him back and flies out the window.
Smoke appears around Benito and then clears away. He stands there but looks older. "Benito?" Benito: I'm really not a teenager. "Why did you bring me here? Who are you and what are you?" Benito: My name is Joseph Limburg. And you are not leaving. You will work for me now. "No. That girl I saved. Slave. I am not going to ever." I start to run but her stops me and covers my mouth. "Stop." Joseph(Benito): Nicole!
I wake up and Benito is by my side. Benito: Are you okay? "Get away from me." Benito: What? It was just a dream. I look at him and leave. Benito: Where are you going? "I want to go home." Benito: Okay but your mom. "You will do whatever to get her awake. Then I go home and you will not stop me." Benito: Okay. Yeah. Are you okay? Do you need to talk? "No." I walk back in to room and lock the door.
I take deep breathes and slide down the door. I don't understand my dream. So much happened. I feel like some of it was real. I have to leave with out Benito knowing.
My stomach growls. I lay down on the bed and look at the ceiling trying not to think about anything going on. I just want to turn back time and have my old life back.
