He pulls into a big car park full of flashy cars, the sound of engines humming and roaring all around us.
I run my hands down my thighs trying to wipe away the sudden clamminess building up from my anxiety.
That anxiety peaks when I spot Finley Miller leaning against his car, beer in hand.
Fantastic. Well let's avoid him.Suddenly the passenger door opens besides me and Ty is there. I didn't even notice him get out of the car.
"You seem nervous. This should help" he hands me a beer.
I don't like beer, but I could do with a confidence boost. He smirks as I take a sip from the bottle, trying to hide my disgust at the taste.
I can't help glancing over to check that Finn hasn't spotted me here. I've got this strange guilty feeling like I'm not supposed to be here, I just can't shake it.I loud horn snaps me from my thoughts as Ty's hand comes to rest on the small of my back.
"It's go time" he has a wide grin on his face as he guides me gently back to the car."Go time?" I question, confused.
"We're racing, you're riding shotgun. Jump in" he runs round to the driver's side while I stand there a little reluctant to get in. Is this illegal?
I flash another quick glance in Finn's direction and lock onto his intense glare. Oh no. Well that makes my decision; I got in the car and buckled my seat belt.
"You ready?" He asks, although it doesn't really feel like a question, more like a warning.
"As I'll ever be" which is not at all.
The tyres screech as he spins us around, lining up with the other cars, all revving their engines and cheering out of their windows.
I take in a deep breath, clutching onto the handle above my head as the horn sounds again and we speed off down the dimly lit road ahead.I can barely control the swaying of my body and rolling off my head with every twist and turn. I have no idea where we are, my eyes are glued shut and my knuckles white, clinging on for dear life.
"You can open your eyes now"
I open one eye at a time, only now realising that we have come to a stop. We're back in the car park, Ty smirking right at me."Did we win?" I'm including myself in this 'we' because I deserve it after putting myself through that.
"Unfortunately not, but we're still going to party like winners" he beamed, jumping out of the car, greeting friends on his way to the centre of the car park.
I'll blame the fact that he just left me here on his excitement. I did kind of need a moment to pull myself together.
I stepped out of the car and slammed straight into Finley Miller. Bouncing off of his chest I stumble backwards into the car.
"Oh. Erm... hi" I force a small smile, avoiding eye contact as the strange guilty feeling seeps back in.
"You shouldn't be here" he states with a glare that's burning into me. Ouch, rude much.
"Why no? I can go where I want" I straighten my shoulders and stand my ground.
"Go home Scarlett" he raises his brows in a stern look before turning and walking away.
Should I go home? Hell no! I feel all riled up now. He can't just tell me what to do. I need another drink. I'm about to make myself some new friends.
