As the morning sun shined through my blinds it was time to wake up. I was showing a lot more and it was getting harder to walk. School was starting in about an hour and a half so I needed to get ready. I grabbed some clothes that would barely fit but worked. I went downstairs to Shelby making Rosalie and I breakfast. It smelt like a breakfast restaurant, she had made fluffy pancakes, bacon and some fruit bowls for us. I instantly dug in. (pregnancy cravings) It tasted like having pancakes for the first time. Her mother was such a great baker/cook. Words could not describe how good the kitchen always smelt. I waited for Rosalie to get up and get ready, once she was, we were off. I wanted to get there a little bit earlier so I could see Chris. I was nervous since he hadn't been around the school that much. So once we got there, I knocked on his door. "Mr. Mendes.. Are you free?" I asked peaking through the door. I was trying my best to hide my stomach but it's kinda hard to hide something so big. The male was quiet but said I could come in. I walked in and I saw so many boxes that was filled with his things. "I hear you're leaving the school, is it because of me?" I asked as he sat down looking directly at me. "No. There's a new position at another school and I had the opportunity to take it." He said. "How are you doing Ms. O'Riley." He asked in a tone that he used with all his students. "Um that's what I'm here to talk about." I said weakly and walked over to him. "Remember that night you and I um.. Well we messed around." I said quietly. Chris tilted his head and crossed his arms. "Go on." He responded. "Well you see.." I said and lifted my shirt a little. "I'm about 5 months pregnant with your kid." I said trying not to break down. Pregnancy hormones are the worst especially in moments like this. I noticed his eyes widened and the room went silent. "I.. I'm so sorry for doing this to you." He said and stood up walking towards me. I felt scared and protective of my stomach. I placed my hands onto my stomach caressing it gently. "I should of told you earlier about this, I was just so scared and didn't want to put so much pressure on you." I frowned ever so slightly. Before I knew it, Chris had his hands on my stomach feeling for the baby. "Are you sure this is mine?" He asked as I tried to cheer this conversation up. "Well I only ever slept with you so." I laughed quietly as he nodded and went back to being silent. "No one knows it's yours though, they think it's Andrew Sanders and I will keep it that way." I nodded confidently. Chris smiled ever so slightly. "Good, I'm glad you can keep us a little secret." I noticed he said us. "Us?" I asked as he chuckled. "Well yeah, we were seeing each other, well like sorta seeing each other." I nodded and started to fiddle with my hands. "I don't know the gender of the baby and I'm scared to go, do you mind taking me?" I asked as Chris sighed. "It'd be odd if I went with you, seems a little sketchy." He rubbed his hand with his fingertips. It made sense, a male teacher going with his student to get their baby's gender. "How did your parents take this?" He asked. I was hoping he wouldn't ask me this as it was a sensitive topic for me. "My mom didn't say much about it but my dad called me a slut and kicked me out so I'm living with Rosalie until the baby is born and I have enough money for us to live somewhere, so I'll be living with them for awhile until I can get myself a good paying job and get some money to save for my little angel." I tried so hard to smile but it looked dumb. Chris nodded and looked at me with sadness in his eyes. "If you need anything, I'll give you my cellphone number." He said and grabbed a piece of paper and wrote his number down. "Do not say anything about this though." He said sternly as I quickly nodded and zipped my lips shut. "Andrew is excited for our kids." I said trying to make it seem a little less obvious. The bell rang and it was time to go to my last class. "Thank you for understanding Chris." I walked up to him and kissed his cheek. "You will always be my favourite teacher." I whispered and then walked out of the class and went into my last class which was math, I know a lot of people didn't like
math but I quite liked it, I needed my math grade up so I wouldn't worry about failing. Andrew was in that class and I walked over to him sitting beside him kissing his cheek. "Hi." I teased nudging him. I have never seen this boy upset and I always thought it was so crazy. I looked up to Andrew a lot and I'd do anything for that boy, he was the sweetest and cared so much for the baby and I. Once class was over I went back to Rosalie's and decided to make a phone call to the doctors for an ultra sound. I got an appointment in a month. I was so nervous yet excited to see the gender and see the beautiful baby growing in my stomach. Was I in for a surprise? I sure was.
