Alesha's POV

The smell of disinfectant filled my nose. I opened my eyes to see a blurry figure sitting over me. I sat up, rubbing my eyes. I realised that I was in a hospital apparently and a cold cloth had been placed over my forehead. I removed the piece of cloth just as arms wrapped around me and blonde hair blocked my vision. I knew at once it was Amanda.

"Amanda?" I murmured. Amanda pulled away.

"Why did you insist you were okay?" she chided me, a frown on her face. "You needed your rest!"

"Let her take a breather, Amanda." Us girls turned to see Simon and David walking through the ward door, holding various plastic bags in their hands.

Amanda scowled at the boys. "Look, if you've come to fume that Alesha lied about the rain not catching her, leave," she spat. Ah, so that's what happened. Typical Simon and David. Typical big-sister-like Amanda.

"Sorry 'bout that," Simon apologised. "We were really concerned and worried so we were short-tempered."

"But," David added. "We come with peace offerings." David held up the plastic bags. "Chocolate, ice-cream and Alesha's favourite strawberry-rose tea." He spoke the last part in a sing-song voice.

Amanda was about to retort, when I interrupted her. "It's fine," I assured the three of them.

Amanda sighed. "Fine."

Simon and David approached the cabinet beside my bed and placed the plastic bags on it.

"You want tea?" David offered. "I can make some."

"Yes please," I answered.

"So," Simon began hesitantly. "Why didn't you stay under a shelter? You knew it was going to rain."

"SIMON!" Amanda snapped.

Simon raised his hands. "I just wanna know!" he defended.

"Y-"

"It's fine," I assured Amanda, placing a hand on her shoulder. I turned my attention back to Simon. "Well, for some reason, being in the rain calms me, but I guess I stood in the rain for too long."

David handed me my cup of tea. I took it and muttered a 'thanks' to him.

"Y'know Alesha, Amanda freaked when you passed out," David informed me. "I swear, I would've laughed if not for the fact that you had passed out."

Amanda smacked him on the shoulder. "Shut up!"

"No, seriously!" Simon agreed with David, before proceeding to tell the story.

Flashback (No one's POV)

"Cut the camera!" Simon barked.

"We have to get Alesha to a doctor," David murmured.

"Of course we have to, you idiot! She's freaking burning up!" Amanda yelled. "Hurry up and help me carry her!"

"Alright, alright!" David raised his hands in submission. He wrapped his arms around Alesha's waist and carried her over his shoulder.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?" Amanda shrieked. "GENTLY! SHE HAS A FREAKING FEVER! HANDLE HER GENTLY! GENTLY!"

"Amanda, stop shrieking!" Simon ordered. "You're making yourself hyperventilate!"

"WELL YOU AREN'T HELPING!"

Simon ignored Amanda and turned to David. "And David, try not to jostle Alesha. She is sick. Carry her properly."

"Right, right, sorry..." David muttered, turning Alesha upright.

End Flashback

Alesha's POV

"I couldn't think straight with Amanda's shrieking!" David defended.

"Don't blame me. You made me freak out even more when you manhandled her!" Amanda argued.

"Okay, okay," I tried to cut in.

"Hey, hey!" three cheerful voices spoke in unison. We judges turned to look at the source of the voices. They were Ant, Dec and Stephen, each holding bouquets.

They shoved the bouquets onto the cabinet beside me before starting to bombard me with concerned questions.

"What happened?"

"How you been?"

"Why did you pass out?"

I tried to answer but they didn't give me much time to answer. I could hear Amanda trying to cut in.

"I THINK ALESHA NEEDS HER REST," Amanda raised her voice over the pandemonium.

Ant, Dec and Stephen fell into silence. "Okay, okay," Stephen raised his hands in submission. "Ant, Dec and I will come back later then." He threw his arms around the other two. "C'mon dudes!"

And with that, the three of them left the room.

"We should leave too," Amanda announced, glancing over at Simon and David as she stood up from the place on the bed she had been sitting on.

"Yup, Amanda's right," Simon agreed pulling David up. "Alesha does need her rest."

"Wait!" I said suddenly. I don't know what possessed me, but I knew I had  to talk to Amanda about my dad. Maybe she'd know what to do.

The three of them turned to look at me quizzically. "What's wrong?" David questioned.

"I need to tell Amanda something," I answered. "In private," I added quickly, glancing at Simon and David.

"Oh," Amanda turned towards the boys. "Simon, David, out, now,"  she ordered.

Simon and David seemed to not want to argue with Amanda and left, although rather reluctantly.

Amanda sat back down on my bed. "What's up Leasha?" she asked, and I could see the concern in her eyes.

I knew I needed to tell her. She was the best person to go to, wasn't she?

'But what if-'

I blocked out my thoughts before taking a deep breath. "Amanda, I..."
