Stiles goes to New Orleans

Chapter 1

Stiles POV

It's been several years since Stiles, Lydia and Danny went back to Beacon Hills.

Currently they are on their way to New Orleans as Klaus had asked them to help with a situation and unlike other research requests that Stiles has received from Klaus this one requires him, a banshee, and a witch with no affiliation to the New Orleans witch ancestors. It's just his luck that he happens to be friends with both.

As he drives Stiles can't help but think about everything that Klaus has asked him to research in the last two years.

-Witchy prophesies about Klaus' daughter. Which led Stiles down a research binge on genetics and reproduction and how exactly Klaus was able to make a child which left Stiles thinking about some very inappropriate things about his sire. Stiles' cheeks were very pink after that research binge.

-On how to unlink his child and a witch without using magic. Which ended up not being used because by the time Stiles found a way they were already unlinked through magic. Klaus was not pleased with how long it took Stiles to find the answer but to be fair to Stiles he had just finished taking his final college exams, so he wasn't exactly at the top of his game.

-Klaus asked Stiles to find a way for Klaus to be able to keep permanent tabs on Tyler Lockwood because apparently the dude tried to kill his child. Stiles was able to send Klaus a twenty-four-hour updating map that would tell Klaus where Tyler was every twenty-four hours (obviously). Stiles managed to get his hands on it very quickly too.

-Next Stiles was asked if he had any information on a witch ritual called 'the harvest'. Stiles did in fact have lots of information about the harvest and why it was a load of crap and how doing three spells, one after the other while give the witches the same results.

Klaus then asked Stiles if there was any way to stop the ritual after it had already been started. According to Klaus the ritual had already been started and had been held off for several months with one last teenage girl fighting for her life to not be sacrificed. It broke Stiles' heart, knowing that he was sending a young girl to her death, to admit that once the ritual had been started there was no way for it to be stopped.

-Klaus then askes Stiles about hexes and whether they could be broken. They couldn't. Hexes where different than normal spells. Hexes consumed the body and infected the soul. The only way for a hex to be removed was if the witch who did it removed it and that didn't always work.

Stiles didn't hear from Klaus for a while after that. He was thankful at first because it meant that he got to take a break and relax after doing back-to-back research binges every other week, that's not even including the work he was doing for his actual paying customers.

Plus, Stiles had to deal with all the questions that came in about the other side breaking and what was happening to the ghosts. Stiles actually managed to get in touch with Bonnie briefly and she explained to him what was going on, so, he added it to his website which helped temper most of the questions he received.

Eventually though Stiles starts to worry. Especially when he hears a rumour that Klaus' child has died...killed by witches or vampires or werewolves. The rumours were all varied about who killed the baby but the one thing was agreed upon was that the baby was dead. For the first time Stiles reached out to Klaus first, asking if the man was okay and if he needed Stiles help with anything like hunting down the people that were responsible.

Klaus replied thanking Stiles but saying that all parties responsible were already six feet under or would be soon.

By that time, it was winter which surprisingly meant that Stiles found himself back in Beacon Hills again.

Stiles spent his Christmas with Lydia and her mother; Danny had gone to Hawaii to visit his family for the season. He also found himself spending time over at the Hales. It was weird at first spending Christmas surrounded by people when all previous Christmas' had been spent alone.

Stiles had a lot of fun that winter.

Lydia's mother Natalie told Stiles to call her mom if he wanted too, she had basically raised him during his teen years anyway. Stiles had cried. It was the first time in years that Stiles felt like he had some sort of mother figure since Melissa.

He also got to hang out with people that seemed to genuinely care about him. Of course, Peter asked him and Lydia again if they wanted to be pack and while Lydia found the thought appealing, Stiles just wasn't ready for that yet or maybe ever. He would live forever, and he would have to watch as everyone in the pack got old and died. It truly wasn't something Stiles wanted to deal with.

Stiles also had to visit his favourite gossiping waitress while he was in town, and it was there that he found out that his father who had been in the sheriff's spot for the past almost 12 years had lost his position to one of his deputies that year. It wasn't long after that Melissa was put on suspension for the third time that year and Scott still couldn't get a job.

Sandra was positively giddy as she told Stiles that the former sheriff, Melissa, and Scott had left town because the whole town, after finding out how they treated Stiles had turned their backs on them.

Stiles felt slightly guilty that he had unintentionally run them out of town but at the same time he was happy that the same thing they did to him happened to them. It felt like karma.

After winter Stiles ended up moving into an apartment with Lydia and Danny in New York.

Lydia had found them the apartment. Stiles paid the down payment with the truly ridiculous amount of money he had made from his website and answering people's queries. Lydia and Danny were both head hunted by the same multi-million-dollar company that paid a shocking amount of money for his friends to work there. Stiles was impressed with Lydia's negotiating skills and how she managed to make both their 5 figure paycheques turn into 6 figure paycheques.

Needless to say, they were all loaded and were able to easily afford their apartment.

That year Stiles had actually managed to get Klaus to pay for his services. Not with money because Stiles really didn't need any more of that, but with information. Klaus and his family had books, art and magical relics that Stiles really wanted to get his hands on.

Klaus asked for Stiles' research to help with:

-werewolves

-witches

-Klaus' mother

-Klaus' Father

-werewolves again or still?

-Klaus' brother (what is it with this family?)

-Klaus' long-lost sister whom they all thought to be dead...

-witches or more specifically how to get his sister to stop possessing a witch...

-Klaus' aunt who wants to kidnap Klaus' daughter, who is alive...

Let's just say that after dealing with a hell of a lot of the Mikaelson's family drama Stiles was tired and so very happy that he didn't hear from Klaus for a good few months. The break was glorious.

In fact, Stiles didn't end up hearing from Klaus until a couple of days ago. When Klaus was asking if Stiles new of a way to kill someone who has made themselves unkillable and if he could help him save someone from a mutated werewolf bite.

Stiles was confused for a while before he called up Klaus and made him explain what on earth had been going on during Klaus' silence.

That was how Stiles found himself here, driving down to Louisiana.
