I decided to try and follow the hound, to hopefully find out why I'd been dragged here. So I picked myself up and ran where I thought the hound went. Wild flowers were trampled as I did this. Snagging tree branches scraped my coffee-colour skin and tangled themselves in my midnight-black hair as I ran, but for once I ignored the pain and kept running. However, despite my efforts, I soon was lost. Pausing to catch my breath, I looked for the hounds paw prints. But there were none. I was definately lost.
"Am I destined to live here, permanently lost?" I wailed, leaning against a tree choked with ivy.
Then I felt a whispering chill around me.
"No..." a ghostly, pitch-alternating voice answered.
"I never asked you." I replied to the voice. I felt a prickly, uncomfortable sensation. The forest seemed frightening now. Then I saw something horrible. Two purple eyes were staring at me from the shadows! The thing from the shadows suddenly emerged from a bush and neighed,
"Doesn't matter..."
then a black, monstrous unicorn charged at me, a trail of black smoke trailing after it. I'd never thought a unicorn could be scary but right now, I was terrified. I screamed, the unicorn made a horrid roar and lunged at me with his crooked horn. I ran away once again but it was faster. The unicorn neighed darkly and he snagged my jeans on his horn! The black smoke surrounding the unicorn swirled around me, choking me... I'd hate to think what would've happened if at that point, something hadn't slammed straight into the unicorns side. The unicorn made a sound like a neigh crossed with a squeal and unhooked his horn from my jeans. Too scared to run, I crawled away, backing against a tree, breathing heavily. I saw a grey creature spring onto the unicorn, fur ruffled, eyes wild. I saw it's grey paws and wolfish face... it was a wolf! Oh brilliant. Wolves were horrible man-eaters! Once it spots me, I thought, it'll howl and it's mangy pack will kill me! The wolf dodged the unicorns powerful kicks and leaped up to bite the beasts neck. In doing so, the wolf was savagely bitten by the unicorn and thrown against a pine tree. But it was all in vain as the unicorn screamed. The shine from it's eyes disapeered. Slowly, the unicorn crashed to the ground, dead. Truly tyranised from that experience, I burst into tears. Sobbing pitifully, I yelled,
"Wolf! If you're gonna kill me, do it now! Put me out of my misery!"
But there was no reply. There wouldn't be one anyway, as wolves can't talk but I was terrified at the time and couldn't care less over such a thing. A few moments later, I heard a soft whine coming from nearby. I dried my eyes and looked up curiously. The wolf who'd attacked the unicorn was injured. Too injured to walk on all fours. He seemed to be beckoning me over. He'd probably broken his leg and couldn't kill me because of that. Slowly, I approached the wolf. He wasn't pretending - his leg was clearly broken. He hadn't savaged me yet but I was still cautious. So I grabbed a long, pointy branch from the ground to defend myself. It was rubbish armour but better than nothing. I walked over to the wolf again, stick out in front of me. The wolf cocked his head at me and panted momentarily, one ear going floppy. He looked friendly, so I decided to help him. I walked over to him and asked,
"Do you want me to help you?"
and the wolfs tail wagged. I took that for a yes.
"If I help him, maybe he'll trust me and be a sort of guard-wolf to protect me from woodland nasties." I pondered.
I searched the area I was in, pulling up willowy plants to be string and a handful of dock leaves for a sling. Once I'd done this, I returned to the wolf. The wolf wagged his tail slowly on seeing me but nipped me when I tried to sling his leg.
"Hey, Hey! It's going to hurt but it's worth it you know!" I cried.
The wolf immediately looked submissive and his tail drooped. Was it just me or did this wolf understand English?
After I'd nursed the wolf, I stood up and he ran in front of me, even though he could only use 3 legs! I faced the wolf and said to him expectantly,
"Come on, you can join me now and guard me like you did there."
Thinking he'd tag along like a dog.
"No." growled a deep voice behind me. I turned around and saw the wolf frowning at me, tail still. He continued,
"Unless you want to get killed by another unicorn on patrol. We need to get back to camp NOW." he growled seriously.

Oh brother. My forest adventure was about to get stranger.
