I stand at the beach, watching as Neteyam played with Tuk, splashing water on her and picking her up.
I smiled as I watched them. They were adorable. Neteyam is a great brother.
I want to mate with him, and he wants to mate with me. We've talked about it. The only issue is, I'm Metkayina clan. He's not.
I've talked to my father about it. I felt that he would be more understanding, whilst my mother would say no immediately.
I dropped my smile and my ears folded as Ao'nung came and stood next to me.
"Father won't let you mate with him." He says with a smirk.
He loves seeing me miserable. It's like his therapy.
"You don't know that." I say as my ears unfold.
"But I do."
"You don't," I say as I keep looking at Neteyam and Tuk, "I have hope."
He rolls his eyes and turns to me.
"You really think father will let you mate with monkey boy?" He says.
I turn my head to him.
"You're the one that likes his sister."
His smirk drops and he walks away.
*Time skip*
"Father wants you." I hear Ao'nung say from behind me.
I turn around and his head is down. I walk past him and head to my home.
I walk inside and my mother stood there with an annoyed look while my father smiled slightly.
"Yes?" I ask him.
"I have decided." He says.
Nervousness suddenly fills me. I tilt my head towards him, telling him to continue.
"You are allowed to mate with this boy. If he makes you happy, I'm glad. But, be wise with this. Mating is not the same as a relationship. It is a bound. It connects you. It's something you cannot turn back from."
I smile as I hug him.
"Thank you." I whisper before letting him go and running away.
"Neteyam!" I yell as I'm running down the beach.
He turns around and looks at me confused. When I get to him I stop and hug him. He hesitates but hugs me back.
"Um, you ok?" He asks.
"Guess what?"
"What?"
"My father says we can be together." I say pulling away with a smile.
"Really?" He asks, a smile playing on his lips.
I nod and his smile grows.
