We are not a fantasy created for Hollywood movies or embarrassing teen romance novels. The truth is, vampires are real. I know, I know, Twilight, True Blood, Vampire Diaries and my favorites the Vampire Chronicles and Dracula have all said it. Blade, Buffy, Underworld and Blood have already shown several facets of this so-called myth.
Vampires are a fad and part of world pop culture. Books, movies, music, stories, games, conspiracies, hallucinations... You've read, heard, seen and dreamed about us. People have so many stories and theories about what we are, who we are, how we came to be. Some make us laugh, others are a version so similar to our reality that it scares us.
The truth is, we can't tell anyone who we are, or what we are. First, because people never suspect what we really are, humans are too self-centered, too scared, too fierce and too sadistic. They don't adapt, they destroy what they can't control, what they can't understand... They destroy what scares them. And that can even scare us.
Second, when we are reborn as vampires, we are destined to carry the blood oath our ancestors took. We are then obliged to keep this secret in our blood, and we could never and would never be able to reveal to any human what we really are. However, there is a loophole in this oath, a loophole that no original could have foreseen.
My birth.
