"Fresh Meat".
That's all I am to these people here at this base. Today was my first day of being a part of Task Force 141. I was requested by Captain Price after going through all of my mission files while selecting members for his special team.
-
Hearing my phone beep, I took it out and read the text message I received.
-
-"Hey. It's Price. Welcome to Task Force 141, Y/N. We're meeting in the conference room at 17:00. Briefing for a mission. See you soon."
-
Hm. That was fast. I just arrived at the base. I guess Kate Laswell contacted the Captain. Checking my watch, I saw that it was 15:00 so I had two hours to kill before the meeting.
-
I walk to the barracks, reading the text message again and smiling as I was excited for this new team. I ended up bumping into a fairly tall man with a mohawk and light facial hair. Falling straight on my ass, I dropped my phone and duffel bag. A deep voice with a Scottish accent called out.
-
" Oh dear! I'm so sorry, Miss! Are you alright?"
-
The man frantically helped me up and gathered my things, pushing them into my hands before I could say anything. Looking up at him, I realize how ruggedly handsome he looked.
-
"Oh. No. You're good. I was looking at my phone so I didn't see you there, darling."
I said to him as I realized what I just called him. My stupid countryside self just called him darling. Why couldn't I have been raised in the city instead?
-
The man shook my hand, introducing himself to me and chuckling due to my comment.
-
" I am John MacTavish. But you can call me Soap." He said with a slight smirk that was mixed with a smile. Charming.
-
"My name is Y/N. But you can call me Reaper. That's my code name." I said to him to introduce myself, smiling slightly. Soap chuckled and let go of my hand.
-
"Reaper? Oh yeah. I read your file. You were dubbed the Reaper of (Your Birthplace). Over 200 confirmed kills and over twenty successful missions. It's an honor, Lieutenant." He said, bumping his fist into my shoulder and smiled.
-
He took my bag before I could protest, walking to the barracks as if he was my tour guide. He rambled on about the main things on the base as I reluctantly followed behind the Scottish man. We stopped at my room and Soap pointed out the rooms near mine.
-
Soap and Price's rooms resided on both side of mine, Gaz was down the hall and lastly...
-
Ghost.
-
His room was settled right across the hall from my room. A dark and cold feeling flushed over me as I glanced at his door. Ghost was the most feared man out in the field. Why did I feel like this? I was called the Reaper of (Your Birthplace).
-
Maybe it was because his face is unknown. His anonymity was unsettling to say the least. I shook my head and collected my bag from Soap, thanking him and went into my sleeping quarters. I tossed my bag to the side, flopping on the cot.
-
" Home sweet home..." I said to myself, sighing.
-
The room felt cold and bare. But it was a feeling of comfort. I looked at my watch and set an hour timer so I may close my eyes to rest. It was a long ride to the base so I was exhausted. I close my eyes, drifting off into a nap with one thing on my mind.
-
Ghost...

Hey y'all! This is my first time publishing a story for the public to see. I'm usually shy when it comes to writing but my boyfriend has been pushing to get over my fear. This is just the first chapter so it's going to be short. These chapters may take me a few days to write as I write them in a notebook the transfer them here. This was only two pages long so if you like a lot of reading, you came to the right place! I'm going to take things a bit slow before I go into the smut part because I want Y/N and Ghost to build a relationship. But anyways. I am currently sick so I probably will not update in a few days. I apologize for that and for this long message and hope you'll like this story! Let me know what you think. I'll try to update chapters once a week! Thanks for reading! ❤️
