A recent report pinpoints the government on a serious matter. It had been seen that females in rural areas are not able to get the sanitary napkins due to the ongoing lockdown. The females of rural areas are dependent on schools, anganwadis to get the subsidised or free stocks but they are facing a stop on this.

The next option appears to buy sanitary napkins but here are two reasons as hindrances. First, they don't have that much money being the poor or labour class. Second, If they are provided with a certain amount of money for this purpose It will be very difficult for them to step out of homes especially in this lockdown. The causes for the same are very dangerous i.e. bad impact on female's health. Most of them will switch back to use clothes instead of hygienic pads and there will be more risks of infections.

The alarm is ticking at the highest speed and the need for proper planning and management to deal with such issues have arisen. The large scale manufacturers and NGOs have to take a look upon it and distribute the stocks where It is not available in the time of isolation and quarantine. The clear message has to be delivered to them for hygienic use of disposable and reusable menstrual products.
The Indian policymakers have taken various steps for ensuring the safe health of girls and women and they cannot ignore the continuation of the same during this time.
