Mama Miruko

Chapter 1

Narrator's POV

We see an apartment building on fire in Musutafu Japan and many heroes are rushing to the scene to try and help including newbie Rumi Usagiyama otherwise known as
'The rabbit hero: Miruko' she was six months out of UA and this was her first major incident I mean sure she's stopped burglaries and assaults and other small stuff before but nothing like this before nothing this bad

As she stood there in awe of the raw destructive power of the fire her sensitive ears picked up a small weak and frail voice saying "please help me" so immediately Rumi took off towards the sound and when she got to a door that now faintly read 3-B she heard the voice again but it was getting weaker "plea.....he.....me" then silence so without thinking she kicked the door off it's hinges and rushed inside and in the living room she saw the body of a woman burned beyond recognition she knew it was too late for her but then she saw a door that looked like the woman had tried to stop the fire getting in there so once again Rumi kicked the door off it's hinges and found the source of the voice it was a young boy covered in smoke stains with dirty green hair that was now filled with soot and ash squinted green eyes and from what she could tell four freckles on each cheek in a diamond shape

She quickly scooped the boy up and rushed him out of the apartment covering the young boys eyes as they passed the woman's dead body in the living room

Miruko took the boy to a medic and as she tried to leave she felt something grab her hand and when she turned around she saw it was the kid she saved holding her hand "please don't go I'm scared" the young boy said through the oxygen mask he was wearing and so aginst her better judgement Miruko stayed with him wrapping her arm around the boys small shoulders and after a while she felt a weight on her lap and when she looked she saw that the young boy had fallen asleep in her lap she didn't move him or herself she just sat there letting him sleep and she unconsciously started stroking his hair as he slept

Time skip

It had been another four months since the fire and Miruko found out the bots name was 'Izuku Midoriya' according to his medical records that she got from a nurse at the hospital and she also found out that the dead body she saw in his living room was his mother
'Inko Midoriya' she was pronounced dead as soon as they found her body but Miruko knew she was gone when she saw her but she died a noble death in Miruko's book she died protecting her baby

Miruko was now making her way into an orphanage where she found out the boy was staying so she entered the building and walked up to the front desk and spoke to the receptionist "hi I'm Rumi Usagiyama I called about meeting with Izuku Midoriya" Miruko told the woman as she typed on her computer presumably trying to find the information for Miruko's visit

"Ahh yes miss Usagiyama Izuku is in his room right now so if you would follow me I'll take you to him" the receptionist told her and Miruko nodded and followed her

After a little bit they arrived at an unassuming looking brown door with a sign on the front that read
'Izuku Midoriya' she presumed it was their so people knew whose room was whose

The receptionist left Miruko outside Izuku's room and she softly knocked loud enough for Izuku to hear and waited for an answer she heard shuffling inside the room before the door opened revealing a young boy no older than 3 years old "Rabbit lady!" Izuku said with a million watt smile planted on his face "hi bunny how are you?" Miruko asked the young boy happily as he hugged her

"I'm ok you wanna see my room?" Izuku asked her to which she agreed and was subsequently dragged into the young boys room

(Izuku's room)

"The nice lady said I could have it however I wanted" Izuku told Miruko happily as she looked around the room when her eyes landed on a poster he had on his wall that wasn't what made her stare at it what made her stare was the fact that it was a poster of her

"That's me" Miruko said in shock at what she saw "mmhmm they asked if there was anything special I wanted in here and all I could think of was a picture of the person who saved my life so I said I wanted a poster of you for my wall" Izuku explained to her as he sat down on a chair he had at his desk

"So how are you holding up bunny?" Miruko asked the young boy carefully not wanting to upset him too much "umm OH last night I slept all night without a nightmare but I still have em sometimes and I don't like being alone but I'm getting better" the young boy said calmly as Miruko hugged him "I'm so proud of you bunny for sleeping without a nightmare good job" Miruko told Izuku which made him smile wide

Time skip

Rumi was at her desk at the hero agency she worked at filling out some paperwork when Ryukyu another new hero who she also graduated with came over to see if she wanted to join her for lunch "hey Rumi wanna go grab some lunch?" Ryukyu asked her friend when she noticed what the paperwork was

"Your filing for adoption of that little boy you saved?" Ryukyu asked stunned as Rumi had never been the most social or caring person in the world and sometimes she was a little crazy

"I am yeah I feel like it should be me because he trusts me and I've grown attached to him" Rumi explained to her friend who promptly hugged her "you'll be a great mom Rumi but more importantly I'm gonna be an aunty ahh I can't wait" Ryukyu said excitedly as Miruko finished filling out the paperwork and put it in an envelope so she could send it off

After work Miruko now in street clothes stood nervously at the post office entrance because if she did this there was no going back but then she thought of Izuku and how close they were and how happy he made her "yeah I can do this" Rumi said to herself before going in and sending off the adoption paperwork forever changing not only Izuku's life but hers aswell
