THE MISADVENTURES OF FUMIKAGE TOKOYAMi

Day 1

On the first day of internships, Fumikage boarded the train and was taken to Kyushu. He would be the only one from class 1A to travel this far for their internship. Belatedly, he wished he had chosen somewhere closer...with a more honest hero. No matter how quickly Hawks rose to the top, it didn't erase the methods he used. Fumikage was disgusted by the hero, and to think he had looked up to the man.

Fumikage knew that people with the brightest smiles could still hide the darkest secrets, but this was a whole different banquet of chaos.

When Todoroki had cornered him and warned him about Hawks, he'd logically assumed that the dual-coloured boy was just incensed that Hawks kept beating his siblings in the hero ranks year after year. It was the only explanation that made sense of his classmate's animosity towards the No. 3 Hero. What Fumikage had heard however had shocked him to his core.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't match the image of the pro hero he'd looked up to, to the man that Todoroki had described. Frankly speaking, the two people were night and day.

"Fumi! Fumi! We're here!" Dark Shadow tugged at him as Fumikage let his quirk lead him out of the train. They walked the rest of the way to Hawks' Agency.

The building the No. 3 Hero made his base of operations was massive. A skyscraper that shot up to the sky, easily towering over the rest of the city. It was a symbol of protection. A symbol of a hero's pride and greed.

It was disgusting.

When Fumikage finally reached the front doors of the agency, he was met by a hero that he'd almost assumed to be Hawks if it weren't for how young the hero looked and acted. The hero had the same tustled blonde hair that the No. 3 Hero was known for and the iconic red wings and markings around his eyes, but from the way he stood and acted-this wasn't the No. 3 Hero. He didn't have the same weariness that Fumikage knew Hawks hid.

"Hey, Birdman!" The hero smiled at him as Fumikage bristled. He WAS NOT a "Birdman".

"My name is Fumikage Tokoyami, and I am here for my internship." He introduced as Not-Hawks grabbed hold of him.

"Hey! Let Fumi go-" They were both pulled into the hero's arms. Fumikage didn't have enough time to do much more than hold on for dear life as they rocketed from the ground.

"This is the fastest way!" The hero's cheerful voice practically chirped as Fumikage did his best to not fall and become a pancake on the sidewalk.

They burst through a window on the top floor and the hero dropped Fumikage to the floor. He had never felt so good to be on solid ground.

"Falcon. You should be more careful with my intern." And that was when Fumikage finally met the No. 3 Hero, Hawks.

When he saw the hero he had looked up to in person, Fumikage was reminded why he had idolised Hawks in the first place. Behind his cheerful and confident persona he upheld for the public, there was a weary look in his eyes. It spoke of years of suffering and pain, carefully hidden behind a meticulously constructed wall. As a child, Fumikage had found Hawks to be the hero he could relate with the most. They were both beings tormented by the darkness in their soul. Hawks was the representation Fumikage needed in society.

Looking at the hero now, Fumikage could still see the hero that he had once adored. The hero that unconsciously, he still looked up to.

"Hello, Tsukuyomi." The hero smiled.

"Welcome to Hawks' Hero Agency."

Keigo was giddy when he saw his ex-intern. Tokoyami was exactly as he'd remembered him, all sharp edges and even sharper eyes that stared at him. Though Keigo would note that his eyes were harsher than in the last timeline. His cute little sidekick had once again chosen to intern with him-not that Keigo doubted that would happen, but it was nice to see a familiar face. Tokoyami had saved him from certain death in the last timeline. After he betrayed Dabi. He'd never gotten the chance to repay the favour.
