Two - (y/n)
⌑The Strange Woman
(y/n) was certain he had brought his best friend along with him, but it was like Ivy and Harley were pulling a prank on him, saying he'd never brought anyone with, just Benny, which never grew any taller than a normal Tibetan Mastiff–that are already huge normally. Even without growing like a hound from Sherlock Holmes, Benny was almost as tall as his owner while standing on four paws.
(y/n) wasn't growing crazy, he couldn't be. He had vivid memories of Pankaj and him going to school, skipping English class, studying. There was no way all that was merely a product of his own mind.
"Are you sure you're okay, sweetie?" Ivy asked, patting her son's head.
"Yeah, I'm fine... " he mumbled. "Never been be'er."
Harley looked down at him. "It's alright to tell us your problems. We're your parents, we're here for you."
"I–..." (y/n) tried hard to think of an excuse. "Uhm... I think I'm gay...?"
Ivy's eyes widened. "Oh. I... Wasn't expecting that."
Harley smiled reassuringly. "It's okay, we'll support you no matter what. You can bring anyone home with you, as long as they treat you right, and you really love them."
(y/n) nodded with uncertainty, his head feeling lighter and warmer. Maybe it wasn't much of a lie, but it felt wrong, discovering himself so early. Granted, his parents were two women and he wasn't forced into any religion, so he had plenty of choice, but still, he felt self-conscious.
"Yeah," he whispered. "Thanks, Ma."

"We're here!" Harley announced. "For real this time."
(y/n) blinked a couple times as he stared up at the huge mansion placed in front of his own eyes. "That's–... "
Ivy shrugged. "It's bigger than I remember."
Benny whimpered quietly as he lowered himself slightly closer to the floor, unsure of the grounds.
"It's okay, B. It's just a building," Ivy reassured. "A building... that Harley took from her ex-boyfriend."
"It's still standing, so it's cool to live in it, right?" Harley mumbled, staring down at all their bags. "I mean, it's still legally mine."
"So you stole this from Mr. J?" (y/n) cleared. "The Ass-hat?"
Ivy nodded. "Jackpot."
"Well," Harley hummed, quick to change the subject, "we might as well start unpacking. Come on, Red, the suite has a hot tub!"
And once again, Harley dragged her girlfriend inside the premise, leaving (y/n) and Benny alone at the wide open gates, with all the bags.
(y/n) sighed, slowly grabbing a few suitcases and dragging them behind him, Benny also helping out by dragging a heavy bag with his mouth.
As soon as the bags were safely inside, Benny and (y/n) pushed the gates closed, locking the old-fashioned door with a large plank of wood.
Benny threw himself on the floor and poked his tongue out, (y/n) huffing with his hands to his knees, both being tired from all the heavy lifting.
"What happened," (y/n) mumbled as he stared down at his dog, reminiscing his friend's rushed death–the moment still fresh in his mind. "How did you do all that, Benny?"
The dog rolled around and faced his back toward (y/n), drooling even more on the hardwood floor than he had already.
"That's not... Normal," (y/n) hummed. "I'm not crazy, I saw everything."
Benny only whined quietly, as if saying let me sleep.
(y/n) sighed. "Fine. We'll come back to that later."
Suddenly, his sharp ears took notice of a distant knock. Both him and Benny perked up, lifting their heads as their ears twitched.
"Can you not ring a bloody doorbell?" (y/n) grunted as he stood up and headed for the door, Benny laying down on his stomach to carefully watch his owner. "Seriously, some people are–"
As he opened the door, a blonde woman sighed. "Oh, thank the gods."
(y/n) stared up at her in confusion, hiding behind the door. "Uh, hello? How may I help you?" he muttered in a quiet voice, barely even making its way out of his throat.
"I'm Luna Grant," the lady informed, in a thick Scottish accent. "I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you, (y/n) de La Cruz, are in danger."
(y/n) blinked. Once. Twice. At the moment, he felt as if one of those Catholics were standing in front of his house, asking if he had time for the word of Jesus, or something.
"How... do you know my name?" he muttered. "Have we met before?"
"Well... no," Luna shrugged.
As the words got out of her mouth, (y/n) went to close the door, but the woman placed a hand in between the crack of the door.
(y/n) sighed and opened the door again, now properly seeing her.
The woman wore a red coat, as if she was waiting for a storm that was obviously hours away. She had a pair of ripped jeans, with an orange shirt hem poking up from her waistband, tucked inside her pants.
"I'm aware I sound quite weird... Ok, maybe maniac... But I can't stand over here and do nothing as a child dies," the woman said frantically. "There are many things I can't tell you right away, but they're severally important, and you might want to hear them, but I have to take you with me, whether or not you like it."
(y/n) pursed his lips and debated over his options in his mind.
He could just turn down the woman, but he'd feel as if he was rude, and that would bother him for the entire week, if not month, and then come back to haunt him whenever he's trying to sleep in the future.
Or he could follow her without protest, and not be bothered by both the curiosity and the embarrassment of not talking to her at all.
... It was stupid, but considering he was plenty stupid as is, the result was almost the same.
He whistled towards Benny and tapped the back of his thigh, making the huge Mastiff raise to his paws and pounce his way to his owner.
Luna Grant cracked open a small, heavily reassured smile. "I take it you're agreeing to come with me?"
"I guess," (y/n) muttered.
"Thank you, child. I promise you will not regret this decision."
He did indeed come to regret this decision in the not so distant future.
