Buffy Summers tosses and turns in her sleep. She awakens and turns to her bedside table for her glass of water, only to find the glass empty. Grabbing her glass and getting out of her warm bed, Buffy goes to refill her glass. Unaware of Drusilla who silently lingers behind the slayer.

She opens her bathroom door, only to find she's now in the Bronze. A slow song eerily plays as Buffy slowly enters the nightclub.

Buffy walks through the crowd towards Willow who sits at a table with a cup of coffee and a monkey whom she seems to be having a conversation with.

"Le hippo a piqu? ton pantalon," Willow says in French to the monkey. Buffy glances at the table her friend occupied in confusion, what the hell is happening?

The monkey squeaks as it sees the slayer approach the table. Willow looks at Buffy and happily waves, with her usual beaming smile. Buffy hesitantly waves back, her smile more like a grimace due to her confusion.

Buffy walks away and back into the crowd. To the teens disbelief she comes across her mother. Joyce holds a large teacup and saucer. The woman looked at her daughter with a soft questioning gaze.

"Do you really think you're ready, Buffy?" She inquires softly, her eyes cloudy and avoid of emotion.

"What?" Buffy asked her mother baffled. Just as she spoke, the saucer in Joyce's hand slips and drops to the floor. Joyce unbothered, simply walks away, confusing Buffy even more.

Buffy ventures back into the crowd in search for any form of answer to explain what was happening around her. The sound of a woman crying immediately gains Buffy's attention and she follows the sound.

"What the-." Buffy stutters in a mixture shock and horror. This couldn't be happening.

Persephone quietly cries as she leans against a pillar, she wore a beautiful white dress that seemed to shimmer under the dimmed nightclub lights. Buffy's breath stops in shock as blood rapidly seeps through Persephone's dress.

"Oh my god Persephone!" Buffy gasps, dashing to her friend in a frenzied panic. Persephone turns to Buffy, the sight before her causes Buffy to stop in tracks and brace herself on her knees.

Her friend's pained face is covered in streaks of crimson blood. Sorrowful browns eyes cry tears of blood. Persephone's lip wobbles as she attempts to stop a sob breaking through, her hands clasped tightly against her chest, right above where her heart is located.

"Angelus did this." Persephone whispered softy, long gone was the fearless fighter Buffy knew and in its place was a frightened little girl.

Buffy staggers to her watcher's daughter. A large body slams into Buffy, her stiff body falls to the floor. She glances up to her attacker and what felt like the hundredth time that night, Buffy's heart skips a beat.
