Carla's POV:

The rest of my classes passed by in a blur. Probably because I slept through most of them. I thought first days were supposed to be eventful, mine was just sad.

The bell rang, indicating the start of lunch. I walked over to my locker, following the direction of the locker numbers.

A locker next to me slammed shut and I jumped at the sound. Standing next to me was a tall girl, maybe about 5"7, with a bubbly smile on her face.

"Hi!," she exclaimed, she looked like the only nice person in this hell of a school. Everyone else was either giving nasty looks or ignoring me. "My name is Avani, and I'm your locker buddy."

I frowned, what the heck was a locker buddy. I asked her what it meant and it set her talking about how it was program created by the school for 2 random students to become friends and create friendships. I didn't believe it worked, but I nodded along nonetheless.

I snapped out my thinking when I realized she asked me the same question thrice.

"Oh what..? Yeah my name is Carla."

"Hi Carla, that's a really nice name."

I asked her about the people in the school, and she started on the popular kids, pointing them out as we headed to the cafeteria. "That's Michelle and her gang, don't mess with them, they can humiliate you in front of the entire school." she shuddered. "I saw it happen to the poor new girl before you. She had to leave the city."

I raised my eyebrows, damn that bad?
She continued, "But they're nothing compared to the Blood Kings." My ears perked up, and I payed close attention. What could be worse than Michelle? She was the one sending me mean glances, even though I didn't do anything...yet.

"They will destroy your life if you cross them. I've heard rumors that Ryder Durkan, has killed before, and his friends that are just as bad." I shivered, damn this school was straight out of a Wattpad story. "When they come, look down and whatever you do, DO NOT make direct eye contact." she added in a whisper, it sounded sad. "You wouldn't want their attention on you." Okay note taken, don't talk to the Blood Kings.

We finally reached the cafeteria. I hoped the food wasn't bad. Turns out, the food was actually delicious, but it didn't seem like it to the others.

The school wasn't that bad, except for the bathrooms. They were vile. It looked like you could get murdered in there. I never wanted to go there ever again.

All of a sudden, everyone fell silent, the excited chatter stopped. It was pin drop silence. The doors got kicked open, and 3 boys strode out into the cafeteria. The dark haired boy in the lead caught my eye. He seemed familiar. They walked over to the table in the middle, where the Sun was shining. It was like a spotlight just for them. The talk resumed again, but this time I could hear nervous whispers spread across. "That's the Blood Kings," Avani whispered anxiously.

Just then, the dark haired boy turned his head and I got a full view of his face. He was stunningly beautiful, but I realized he was the one who pushed me. Why didn't I realize sooner? I looked behind him and saw Aiden and Alexander sitting next to him. Avani told me to stay away from them, but little did she know, I knew them already.

"Avani, I already know them." I started.

She stared at me in shock. "He is right behind you." What did he want now? I turned around in my chair to see him towered over me.

"Hey Carla, how's your head doing?" He asked sarcastically.

I really wanted to punch his face. The nerve of that boy. First he crashes into me and then makes fun of me for it. He's so dead.

I clenched my tray tightly, before standing up and dumping my leftovers all over his head. I gave him a smug look.

"I'm giving you a head start, you better run darling." he said darkly. He looked pissed. Like the type of anger that would get you killed.

I followed his instructions and ran as fast as I could out of there.
