"DEAN!!!!!" Kenzie screamed in hell. Blood covered her face, arms, and body. Kenzie had went to hell after making a deal with a demon to save Dean. After she was pulled off the rack, she ended up torturing souls that came into hell. She did things she didn't know she was capable of.
Time Skip
For the fourth night that week, Kenzie woke up from a nightmare about being dragged back into hell and tortured for all of eternity. She was barely even sleeping, eating, hell, she couldn't even think straight. So, every time the boys would leave to go hunting monsters, she would stay behind at the bunker, laying on the couch.
It wasn't long before Dean and Sam both noticed the changes in her. So one day, Dean confronted her at the diner when she was barely touching her burger. "Alright, Kenzie. What's going on? Talk to me. You've barely eaten the last few weeks, and we can tell you haven't been sleeping. The dark circles under your eyes says it all."
Kenzie looked at Dean, sighing. "Nightmares. They won't go away no matter what I do." She turned her head slightly.
Dean moved into the seat beside her, taking her face into his hands. "Hey, listen to me. Nobody said this deal with that demon was going to be easy. But you are stronger than this. Whatever the nightmares are, they can't hurt you." Dean kissed the top of her head.
Kenzie was quiet for a moment. "I was in hell, Dean, tortured for eternity. That's what I saw in my dreams." She peered up at him.
Dean clenched his jaw. "That's not going to happen again. I won't let it happen. I promise you." Dean held her against him, looking at Sam.
Sam nodded to Dean. Dean looked down at her. "You can sleep with me tonight. I'll keep you safe." Dean promised her.
Later that evening back at the bunker,
Kenzie was sitting on the floor of the kitchen, looking through photos of her with her parents before they were killed. She sipped a beer as she was looking. She flipped through another photo album. "I miss you." She muttered. After she finished her fifth beer, she put away the photo albums, and found Sam and Dean in the library.
Dean looked up as Kenzie leaned against the doorframe. "You alright?" Dean asked. Sam looked up from the book he was reading
She didn't say anything, just nodded. Dean closed his book. "Why don't we pick this up tomorrow? I need sleep. I know for a fact Kenz needs sleep."
"Good idea, Dean." Sam closed the book he held. He got up.
After they said their good nights, they went to their rooms. Kenzie went with Dean, climbing into the bed with him. Dean wrapped his arms around her, after he turned the light out. "You're safe, Kenz. Try to sleep some." He whispered, but she'd already fallen asleep. Dean heard her soft snores. He chuckled quietly. And dozed off himself.
The next morning, Kenzie was taking a shower. Dean woke up and didn't see Kenzie. He freaked out, hopping out of bed. "Sammy?! Where's Kenzie?" He came flying into the library.
"Relax, Dean. She's taking a shower." Sam told him. "It's alright." Dean sighed of relief. "I thought- well, never mind." He sat down. "What do you got?"
"Two families were killed in their sleep. Hearts ripped out. Sounds like another werewolf case. But can't be sure until we talk to the victims' families and the police." Sam explained.
Dean nodded, still very much half asleep. He got up and went to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee. Kenzie came out of the shower, dressed in. Dean's Led Zeppelin shirt, her jeans, a flannel, and her hair was pulled into a messy bun. She sprayed some of her Kenneth Cole perfume on some. It was her favorite. She also wore the bracelet her father gave her three nights before he was killed along with her mother.
As Kenzie was turning the corner, she gasped. Another flashback from Hell. Whispers rang throughout her ears. "You will be back!" They hissed. She let out a sharp, piercing scream. Dean dropped the cup he was holding, Sam dropped his book. They took off towards where Kenzie was, who looked as if she saw a ghost. "Kenzie?!" Dean was the first to her. He grabbed her, pulling her close. "What happened?"He stroked her hair.
"F-flashback. Hell. I heard whispers." She muttered against his chest. "It's alright. You're safe. You're not there anymore." Dean said softly but soothingly. After a few minutes of calming her down, Dean led her to the kitchen where he made her and Sam breakfast. After breakfast was done, he fed them first, and then himself. Sitting beside Kenzie, he ate his breakfast. "Sam got us a case." Dean told her. She looked up. "What happened?" She asked, eating her bacon.
"Two families found dead in their beds. Hearts ripped out." Dean replied. She nodded. "I think I'll stay here." She said quietly. Dean nodded. "Well, Cas and Jack will be back today. So you won't be alone." Dean kissed her forehead. "We'll be back as soon as we can."
"Be careful." Kenzie told them. She kissed Dean. He returned her kiss. "We will. I promise." He then went to get dressed. Sam did the same thing before they headed out. After then it's left, Kenzie sat in the library reading a book. Castiel and Jack returned a few moments later.
"Hey, where is Dean and Sam?" Jack asked, taking a seat at the table. "They found a case." Kenzie replies. She looked up. Both Jack and Castiel looked at her worriedly. "How are you?" Castiel asked. "And don't lie to me."
"I'd be better if the nightmares and flashbacks would stop." She gave him a shy smile. Castiel nodded. "You know you're safe here. We aren't going to let anything happen to you. Dean would kill us if we did." Jack smiled, reassuringly. She smiled back. "I know. I think that's why I love him so much. How protective he can be." Kenzie went back to the book she was reading.
"What are you reading?" Castiel asked. "To Kill a Mockingbird." Kenzie replied, looking up. "That's a good book." Castiel replied. "I've read it quiet a few times."
