Inferna stood after assessing the blaster

Inferna stood after assessing the blaster. "I need some new parts," she said, trying not to cringe at the sound of her voice.

"If you go down there, you'll probably die," Flamewar responded, firing an arrow below.

"I need to. I can't fight if I don't!"

Inferna's comrade scowled. "Fine. I'll cover you but be quick ok?"

She nodded and scaled down the guard tower, running onto the battlefield.

-

The sounds of battle were deafening now, and Inferna tried to block it out as much as she could.

She ran up to a fallen soldier, prying the blaster out of their servos. "Sorry," Inferna whispered, standing and starting to run away.

Something knocked her off her peds, and Inferna fell to the ground hard, the blaster skidding away. Slag!

She tried standing, but quickly stopped as spikes of pain surged up her leg. Inferna grunted, and looked back, seeing blue liquid surrounding her right leg, and orange sparks flying from her left. 'How-'

"Inferna!" A voice came over her comlink, a red-colored arrow flying over her, and a Decepticon cried out in surprise.

Inferna grabbed the blaster, and dragged herself across the ground, leaving a trail of Energon behind her. 'I...don't...want...to...die...please...'

Her vision started to fade, and the sounds of the battle around her began to grow quieter and quieter. 'Really? Is this how I go out? Why...'

-

When Ultra Magnus saw his daughter on the battlefield, the entire world seemed to stop around him.

There was no denying it was her, with the tall blue and red frame, crown-like helm, and chipped paint. She lay on the ground, a pool of Energon surrounding one of her legs, and sparks coming off the other, her normally bright blue optics dark.

'No!'

He ran over, shooting all the cons that got in his way. The commander picked her up, cradling Inferna in his arms.

He ran as fast as he could over to the edge of the battlefield, near the city. "Medic," he shouted. "Medic!"

A white and orange bot quickly stepped forward without a word, taking her from Ultra Magnus's arms and taking her over to a medical tent, laying her down on a metal slab.

"Pharma!" He called.

A red and white looked over from the patient he was attending to. "Yeah?"

"Can you get her? I'm going back into the field."

Pharma nodded, making sure the patient was stable before going over to her as the other medic left.

-

When Inferna came to, it was mostly quiet, with the only sounds being the bots shouting out orders to their troops and the beeping of the medical machines. The blaster fire and explosions had stopped so she assumed the battle was over.

She opened her optics, seeing an unfamiliar bot standing above her. Inferna tried to sit up and punch him, but he just pushed her down and caught her servo. "You shouldn't move, you're only hurting yourself."

"Who are you? Where am I?" Inferna demanded.

"I am Pharma, a combat medic. You are in a medic facility on the edge of Nova Cromun."

"Is the battle over?" She asked.

Pharma nodded. "For now."

"Who won?"

He snorted, going over to the I.V. and making sure it was secure. "Nova Cromun is secure for the moment. There's no telling when the Decepticons will attack again."

Inferna sighed, staring up at the ceiling. "How long will I have to be in here?"

"A couple of cycles. You sustained major injuries to your legs and a little on your voicebox. It'll take some time to recover. In the meantime, you should rest."

The curtain slid open, revealing Flamewar, along with Moonracer and Wheeljack. Pharma, after checking her vitals, left, leaving them to talk.

Flamewar went to one side while her Wrecker comrades went to the other. The room was uncomfortably quiet for a little, and Inferna shifted, wincing as she accidentally moved her legs.

Flamewar set her (now repaired) blaster next to the metal slab. "How're you feeling?"

Inferna groaned. "Do I have to answer?"

Moonracer put a servo on her shoulder. "Glad you're ok, Inferna."

"If you call this 'ok'."

Wheeljack laughed. "You're alive, aren't you?"

Inferna smiled slightly. "Yeah..."

-

[A few cycles later]

Inferna, assisted by Flamewar, limped out of the medical facility. She stopped suddenly. "By Primus's name!"

The city around them was in ruins, with buildings either completely or mostly collapsed. In the distance, she could see smoke wafting up into the air. In the streets, entire units of Autobots marched, weapons in hand. Some engineers were installing large ion cannons on top of a few guard towers.

"We received some intelligence reports saying that Decepticons are advancing to Nova Cromun. We're just preparing."

Inferna was silent for a few moments, taking in her surroundings. Out of the corner of her optic, she spotted the commander lecturing an Autobot captain about something, though abruptly stopped when he saw her.

She hobbled over to him, and Ultra Magnus dismissed the captain. "Comm-"

He pulled her toward him gently and hugged her tightly, Inferna's helm pressed against his chassis (chest). After a few nanokliks, Ultra Magnus pulled away, regaining his composure. "Apologies for not being able to visit. But I am glad to see that you are doing better."

Inferna blinked, stunned. "Um, thanks, I guess."

A soldier ran up to him, whispering something into his audio receptor. "Excuse me," he said, walking away and bowing his helm respectfully at Flamewar.

The two femmes looked at each other for a little before Inferna limped towards Flamear, who took her arm again. "I guess I'll take you over to the Wreckers."

"Yes, please," Inferna said, still a little stunned.
