A SIGNED DEAL - CHAPTER THREE: SUB-CHAPTER ONE

He drove. Ironic, considering it was my car, but hey, the guy wanted to get over Sienna. That was an improvement so, baby steps.
"Sean?"
He glanced over at me. "Hmm?"
"Why the sudden change of heart? Why the sudden need to get over her? I thought...you guys were back together," I said.
"She told you that, huh?" he asked and I nodded.
"Funny, that's not what I remember telling her," he said and I turned so fast I almost gave myself whiplash. Dangerous times, people.
"She made that up?" I breathed.
"Yes. Well, yes and no. I didn't actually tell her I was never going to get back together with her and that she was just a plain bitch. Even though I wanted to," he smirked sideways at me.
"Well what did you tell her then?"
"I told her I'd think about it."
And although I liked him so much, in that moment, he seemed like a total male genital. He told her he'd think about it and yet came to me to get over her.
"Why'd you ask me for help to get over her then?" I asked.
"Look, Kend, this is really simple, actually. I told Sienna I'd think about getting back together with her, but if you can help me rescue my heart from her grasp, then yeah, I'll break up with her. For real. Okay?" he asked.
"Okay."

"So this is the place?" he asked, incredulously, his long arms stretched out to gesture at the expanse of greenery around us. Sansbury Park.
"Yeap, this is it," I said, sitting down on the grass. I patted the spot beside me.
He sat down next to me.
"So this is phase one, alright. And I warn you, you've got to be receptive throughout the healing process and completely willing to hear all about my nagging and whining and complaining about how you were a worthless, whipped, douche in love. Sign on the dotted line here," I said, holding out my palms towards him and mocked drawing a dotted line.
Sean winked at me. "Ouch that hurts you know. A worthless douche in love? And here I was thinking you were my best friend," he placed a hand on his heart and I laughed. He signed on the imaginary dotted line.
