Chapter 6: the mall trip

*Nico POV*

We walked into the mall and started looking around. Eventually, we walked into a punk type store and looked around. I got a black hoodie and some t-shirts. Some purple ones, a few red ones, a couple blue ones, some green ones, a few white ones, and some black ones. Then, I grabbed another hoodie, a red one this time, and brought them to the cashier. She had long purple hair, and she was wearing black lipstick. "Is that it?" She said unenthusiastically.

"Uh, yeah," I replied.

"That'll be $35.50," she said, popping her gum in my face.

Drew handed her the money and we left. Suddenly, a familiar manticore jumped out of nowhere. I pulled out my sword. "Dr. Thorn," I said.

He smiled "Nico di Angelo. It's been many years. Where is your sister?" He asked, "oh that's right, she's dead. It's a shame really, she was so young. I'll let you in on a little secret, I was the one who placed that mythomagic figurine that she took. She died thanks to me."

I rushed him, aiming for his throat. He knocked me back with his tail. Suddenly, he was pinning me down. He tried to stab me with his tail but I blocked it with my sword. He pushed down on the sword, harder and harder, until the metal was digging into my skin. Then, a girl jumped out of the shadows, decapitating the manticore with her sword. He exploded into monster dust. A hellhound appeared beside the girl. She looked at me. Then, her eyes rolled back in her skull and she passed out. I ran to catch her. Will was there, checking her pulse. "We have to get her back to camp," he said urgently.

"I'll shadow travel her," I said.

Will's eyes widened. "Oh no you don't, I don't want you doing any of that underworld voodoo shit,"

I smirked. "Who said I was going to use my powers," I said, turning toward the hellhound, "hey there, think you can make another jump?"

The hellhound stood up. Then I put the girl on her back. I told her the coordinates of CHB and we disappeared into the shadows.

We reappeared in the woods. The hellhound ran through the woods, dodging trees and flustered nymphs. We burst out of the woods and rushed to the infirmary. I picked up the girl and ran into the building. "Abby! Sarah!" I shouted. I laid the girl down on one of the cots. The two daughters of Apollo began to heal her.

Eventually, I heard Abby say, "she's stable." I went over to her, removing the mask that covered half her face. She was beautiful. She had sharp features and high cheekbones. Her hair was a dark shade of red. I wonder what her name is.

Also, whoa!!! Who is this mystery girl? I already know and I'm excited to find out what happens.
