My mom insisted that we headed over to where the party was being held early to help set up the chairs and tables. Seeing as how we usually held the "block parties" we know how to set things up, what type of music to play and what people around here typically like to do, and by the end we all feel like family. This party was important because a new family (the Fairbanks I think) just moved in one street over and we don't want them to get the wrong idea about this neighborhood, our neighbor Sally invited them over to just hang out and get to know us all. I was in the middle of setting up the chairs when Sally came and started helping and whispered in her English accent, "I hear the Fairbanks have a son about your age, he's coming tonight maybe you've seen him around school."

I stood there for a moment and thought No way, it couldn't have been? Could it? No,no,no it wasn't him. I smiled and said, "maybe" then walked over to my mom and asked if she needed help with the decorations, she said no so I went home because they didn't need my help anymore. I went on my laptop and opened two tabs one for pandora and another for Google. After 5 minutes I settled on All Time Low radio then went into google, to where the assignment is posted, ugh not only is it an essay about the history of writing but it's also a presentation, which means we either need a slideshow or a big piece of cardboard with pictures and writing on it. This is going to suck, it's the last 3 weeks of school project and to make it worse I have to do it with Nick. I got my phone off the charger and texted Paige.

Cas:

Hey did you see the project yet ? And who did you get partnered with ?

Paigeee:

Ikr it's ridiculous like who can do all this work in such little time. And I got partnered with Cam.

Cas:

Lucky you got the cute guy, while I got the scum of earth.

Paigeee:

The scum of earth? Lol that's new but very creative, I applaud you. I gotta shower but I'll come over later.

I read it then put the phone back on the charger and opened another tab with another Google and started searching famous writers and playwrights. After getting ten writers I closed both Google tabs and changed pandora to YouTube and caught up on the videos I missed during the week, starting with Danisnotonfire. After being all caught up it was about 6:37 so the party started almost ten minutes ago.

I didn't bother changing out of my gray Panic! At The Disco tee and black pants because this isn't anything formal, but I did put on my red vans to add a pop of color to my rather dull outfit. I also kept on my bracelets that went up to my mid arm so that my tattoo didn't show, my mom would kill me if she found out I have one. I waited a few more minutes to see if Paige would text to let me know she was on her way. In this rush to check and recheck everything I forgot that I had taken and left my laptop to the living room so I just shoved it in my bag and rushed out of the house.

Dashing out the door with my bag in toll I had to run down the now empty street, only stopping when I could hear the music clearly, the party was now only a few houses away and alive with singing, dancing, and yes a lot of drinking. And I know what you're probably thinking, what about the children? Don't worry their are only people 17 and older allowed to this one.

Opening the back gate to the house where it's held, I see my mom talking to someone that I can't tell who it is from the back. I sneak over to where the speakers are, I go into my bag and get my laptop and plug it in. I set it on shuffle before hitting play. Making sure the volume is right just as a fall out boys start to play.

I see Sally talking to Mrs. Smith a few feet away, I go over to her ask, "Do you want to dance?" Getting the reply, "Of course, I may be old but I can still move." She practically dragged me to the make shift dance floor. And she starts doing something that not so much dancing but more of a bouncing and swaying type of motion, I burst out laughing and she stopped dancing and gave me a little glare but after a moment she started laughing too. After about 5 songs she had to relax for awhile. The Fairbanks went over to where Sally and I were and thanked her for the invite, then introduced their son Chance, his jaw practically hit the floor when he realized it was me. I smiled and said, "Hey you're in my history right?"

He nodded and responded, "Yeah, and I think French as well." I made an ahh noise and nodded yeah.

The two of us walked away and started doing our own thing, now that I could really see his face I saw he had gorgeous green eyes and the darkest black hair I've ever seen. After a few moments of awkward silence I questioned, "Why did you move 3 weeks before schools over?" He thought for a moment before replying, "Its a long and complicated story, I don't really want to talk about it." I decided to change the subject and asked, "So do you have to do the end of year assignment? I mean you did just move here." He smiled and said, "Sadly yes, I have to do it but she doesn't know who to partner me up with." I replied with a smile, "Well you're always welcome to join my group." He said, "I wish, she's going to have me placed with someone by Monday." That conversation ended after that so we just went back to the dance floor. After a half hour of dancing we were both exhausted and it was about quarter after ten. I decided it was time to go home so I excused myself from the party and started walking home but was stopped by Chance grabbing my arm lightly and asked why I was leaving so soon. I told him I was tired and that I needed to get some stuff done before I could even think about sleep. He looked really disappointed but let my arm go and went back to his parents. I got my laptop and left. Once I got home I took a quick shower and put on my most comfortable pajamas, then proceeded to my room and watched TV for a while, but as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.
