Chapter Two: Dirty, Maybe... Old? Hardly
Even before the war, the Kakashi and Sakura were always placed on missions together. Their history, success rate and familiarity with one another given that he'd trained her prior to Tsunade made their proximity ideal.
The pair of medical and copy nin, had an obvious trust that was so deep and a relationship so easy..... Being next to her, falling into step with Sakura, was as natural, as effortless and unconscious to Kakashi as breathing.
Admitting his feelings, even to himself or doing something, anything about them, was the opposite of easy. For too many reasons that the now Hokage had never consciously realized.
The man had even gone so far as to creating a running list of cons in his head as a barrier to it.
A key one of those reasons being that his former students on Team Seven, his team, including Sakura, teased him; calling him a dirty old man who read porn in public.
After all the time passed, it never stopped nagging him. An itch in a place he could not scratch. His Chia Chia books were a little spicy, but not absolute.........
'Well, maybe they had a point.'
That thought made Kakashi give into the need for some relief, letting him rub the back of his neck thinking of a defense. Another show of just how much he was affected by Sakura. No matter what he thought, no matter what urge he had, it never showed.
Kakashi never submitted to impulses. Only ever portrayed what he meant the world to see.'Dirty maybe, old hardly,' he internally scoffs at the thought. Remembering and pulling to his pride.
In that, his chest puffs a bit, and his chin slightly raises.
Kakashi reminds himself that he was Jounin, the highest level of ranked Shinobi, by the time he was 12 and running ANBU, their covert black ops unit, at age 15.
The infamous copy nin was no more than 19 when Lord Third pushed him to take on the three little brats that would change the course of his life.
Age was a common misconception most every one had when it came to him. The white silver of his hair threw the majority off. The fact that Kakashi always wore his trademark black face covering to hide his young features and expressiveness, didn't really offer clarity on the matter either.
While Kakashi had always been tall, lean, and attractive, he knew the virtue of disguising himself. Anything that could conceal a truth about the born and formed spy was something he embraced rather than shunned.
The White Wolf of the Hidden Leaf's son was more like Sauske than Naruto in the fact that he knew and was trained by his father. Another legend in his own right.
While Naruto's father's reputation was greater in scale, the flame haired kid never knew either of his parents. Them having died the day the boy was born.
Regardless, neither he nor his male students escaped 'daddy issues' and Naruto was the only one to resolve his as he grew. In truth, Sauske's harsh and mentally abusive father was a peach by comparison to Kakashi's own.
The white haired boy of a disgraced Leaf legend never knew what affection or kindness was until he was assigned to Minato, Naruto's father. Losing his whole team and his family, entering puberty, was nearly enough to kill Kakashi.
If it hadn't been for Lord Third keeping his grandson Asuma with him, despite their age difference.......Kakashi shakes his head to ban the terrible thought of what he might have become without the bonds forged in his life.
No small part of Kakashi struggles with the title on his head. The Hokage was the most acclaimed and supposedly powerful Shinobi. Entrusted with the village Hidden in the Leaves, to protect it.
