Saying Goodbye

"I'll come to you as soon as I get back"

These are the words Sophie keeps remembering for the past 2 months but she's heard nothing about Tae returning. Remembering every second of that amazing night with him, Sophie can't help but hold onto the hope in her heart that it truly meant just as much to him as it did for her so continues waiting for him. But since then, no call or text or any other attempt to contact her thru social media. After a few weeks, Sophie had a scare when her period was late thinking she might be pregnant with Tae's baby. Fortunately, right as she decided to take a pregnancy test, Mother Nature showed up full blown with the most painful cramps making for a long week. 

One evening, she receives a call from Korea and thinking it may be Taehyung she happily answers only to hear her mother's voice telling her to pack for a brief visit home for a very important event. Since it's the Fall break before the holidays she flies back the next day. Arriving she learns the event is the passing of a family acquaintance who happens to be Mrs. Kim, Taehyung's grandmother. Sophie now understands the reason Tae hasn't returned to school and although feels sad for him she can't wait to see him and comfort him.

When she and her parents arrive they quickly give the family their condolences but Taehyung is nowhere to be seen. After the service everyone heads to the cemetery for the burial and it is here that Sophie sees Tae step out of a car in a dark suit and dark sunglasses. Although she can't see his whole face she notices he seems tired and very sad as Sophie had heard he was very close to his grandmother.

When everyone was walking away, Sophie slowly was walking towards Tae but before she can approach him a pretty girl with long hair latches onto his arm possessively and Sophie hears her tell him "Are you ready to go Baby? Why don't you stay with me tonight again so you won't be alone? I promise to comfort you like I have been all this time." Sophie backs away when she sees him nod and as he looks her way, she quickly turns wiping the tears that slide down her cheeks. As her car drives by, Tae glimpses her but doesn't recognize her. "Goodbye Kim Taehyung. Be happy my first love."

Heartbroken Sophie returns to school only to hear news not only about Tae's family sorrow but also the rumor of his impending engagement. With her friend Kat still not back from her vacation, she goes to a bar by herself and proceeds to get drunk to drown her sorrows. A man approaches Sophie and tries to engage in conversation but Sophie ignores him. When the man tries to force Sophie to drink something he especially mixed for her, a young man stumbles between them knocking the drink onto the man's expensive suit. The young man apologizes and then turns to say Sophie is his college mate and the pervert walks away. Sophie, who's been watching all these theatrics through drunken goggles, laughs at her class mate and clapping at his performance thanks him for getting that pervert off her back.

Immediately following her words of thanks, Sophie slumps over on the bar in a drunken sleep. The young man looks at her disbelieving how such a cute and feisty girl can get so drunk and sleep so peacefully like an angel without a care in the world. Unable to abandon her, he ends up taking her home safely.

When classes resume, Sophie stands anxiously outside her dance class waiting for someone. When she sees the handsome blonde guy who helped her that night, she shyly looks down. "Are you waiting for me Pretty Girl?" He smiles at her shyness causing his eyes to become cute slits. "Umm, I just want to thank you for helping me that night and for taking me home. Even though I was drunk, I still remember most of what you did for me so thanks!" she says in a low sexy voice which causes his body to react.

"Well since you owe me, how about you go out dancing with me this Friday as payment?" he boldly asks. Unable to think of an excuse to get out of it and also because she is truly grateful she agrees. 'And his amazing body and seriously hot dancing skills have nothing to do with it, right So?' she tries to convince herself.

Friday night comes around and Sophie nervously keeps checking herself in the mirror. "Babe, you look gorgeous!" says her roommate/best friend Kat. "Who is this guy you're going out with tonight?" she asks. "A guy who's in my dance class." So responds. "Wait, it's not that new guy who dresses nerdy with glasses in class but in dance shows his Greek GOD body is it?" she asks excitedly. "Yes, his name is Park Jimin and he seems like a really nice guy." Smirking at me Kat replies "Well if he's got Miss Sophia Lee Sung all nervous and flustered he must have some moves way better than Jagger!" with a laugh and a wink.
