*Boromir's Pov-

I felt her sorrow... Her fears... Her energy merged with mine as she healed me. I closed my eyes and watched her work, crying softly as she did. before long, I fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.

*Aragorn's Pov-

"Alright, let's shove him off." Legolas nodded as he crouched beside me and started pushing the boat containing Boromir's body. As we pushed the boat into the river, Legolas froze.

"Wait..." I stopped and looked at him as he pointed into the boat. "Look." My eyes widened as I watched Boromir's hand twitch. I started to tug at the boat.

"Pull it back! Pull it back!" As soon as it was beached, I knelt down beside the boat and looked in. Boromir was breathing both softly and steadily. I shook my head, covering up my smile. Before long, he groaned, causing Legolas to smile as well.

"He's alive..." I reached down and shook Boromir's shoulder.

"Boromir..." His eyes fluttered open, and he sat up almost immediately.

*Boromir's Pov-

"I... It... Era..." I looked around and then at myself. "I'm alive..." I looked up at Aragorn and smiled. "It worked!" I leaped out of the boat and looked around. "Era, it worked!" When none of them said anything, I frowned and turned to Aragorn. "Where's Era?" He lowered his gaze.

"She left... She thought you were gone, and she couldn't bear to watch you go. So, she left to go track down the Orcs and help Merry and Pippin." My breath caught in my throat.

"No..." I looked at the woods before looking back at the others. "Why'd you let her go alone? They'll take her! There's too many of them!" Legolas caught my arm before I could start for the woods.

"What do you mean?" I looked at them.

"You don't know? Sauron took Skyrena, and he'll be coming for Era. It's not just the ring he's after..." I looked back towards the woods. "He's going to use them against us." I frowned as I noticed a strangely familiar smell that I hadn't noticed before coming from the woods. Legolas frowned as I pulled away.

"What is it?" I smiled a little.

"I think I know where she went..." With that, we took off, following Era's trail.

*Era's Pov-

My grief and anger kept me going as I pressed on through the woods and hills. I traveled nonstop for hours, even after nightfall. Using the form of a wolf, I tracked the pack of Orcs, following their trail until their scent was so strong, I almost passed out. Coming to a clearing, I ducked behind some rocks and looked around the corner at the pack of Orcs in the clearing.

"We ain't had nothing but maggoty bread for 3 stinking days!" Several others nodded in agreement.

"Yeah... Why can't we have some meats?" I growled softly as I noted one of the Orcs watching the hobbits.

"What about them? They look fresh..." Before I could hear anything else, I heard a shout from behind me.

I leaped away from the rocks as 2 Orcs can charging at me from behind. Drawing my blade, I ducked the first blow and blocked the second. From the clearing, I heard the loud, confused murmur of the others. Before I could strike either of them, I found myself surrounded by Orcs, all staring at me.

"What is she? Is she a dwarf or another halfling? Can we eat her?" One lashed out and caught a handful of my hair.

"Speak, female. What are you?" I steadied my breath and narrowed my eyes at the ugly creature that was leering down at me. He took a huge whiff from my hair and backed away, his eyes wide. "She's a shapeshifter!" All around us, the Orcs shifted their weight uncomfortably.

"What do we do with her?" The Orc who held me by the hair tightened his grip as he faced the others.

"We take her to Sauroman!" They all started shouting as he lead me into the clearing and threw me to the ground beside the hobbits. Before I could lift myself up, several Orcs seized my hands and forced them behind my back. As they fought to keep me still so they could tie my wrists, I smirked and looked over at the hobbits.

"First chance you get, run for the woods. You'll be safe there..." Before they could say anything, I heard the thunder of hooves against the ground and smirked.

"Men!" All around me, the Orcs scattered. I shrugged off the ropes and rose to my feet, eyeing the first Orc in sight. Behind me, I heard a shout.

"Look out!" I leaped out of the way as a man on a horse came riding by, swinging his sword. He beheaded any Orcs within reach and turned to me. "Everything's under control, my lady..." Riding up to me, he bowed his head and looked me up and down. "Allow me to take you to safety." Seeing that the Orcs were already being killed off by the other riders, I nodded and accepted the hand he extended to me. As he helped me onto his horse, he smiled a little. "I'm Eomer." I smiled back at him.

"Era, daughter of Thorin, princess of Erebor." He frowned as we galloped through the clearing.

"I thought Thorin was a dwarf, not a human." I huffed and rolled my eyes.

"My mother is Skyrena of Erebor, a shapeshifter." He nodded a little as he stopped the horse.

"So, that makes you a shapeshifter as well?" I nodded. "But, you're regular form is a dwarf?" I nodded again. "Why are you a human, then?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"I chose this form since I knew I'd be traveling through human territory." He dismounted and nodded.

"I see... Your father came through our land, searching for your mother. From what we now know, they took her to Isenguard." I nodded.

"But, that's not why I was here. I was tracking the pack of Orcs that took two of my friends. However, I didn't anticipate being taken myself." He nodded.

"We'll search for your friends as we finish off the Orcs." He nodded at one of the men, who had followed us. "He'll stay with you and keep you safe." I smiled a little and nodded.

"Thank you."
