byul had thrown a fit and cried herself to sleep, giving yunho a chance to pick her up and carry the girl back. the whole time he walked with the girl on his arms, he felt a pair of eyes glued onto him.

ignore it. get back to the station and hand her to yeosang. itll be safer if he takes her and i go investigate after.

he thought to himself. he didnt want to stop in the middle of the road and just confront whoever was watching him, it wouldnt be save for byul if he was being ganged up on and ... he would be in disadvantage and his defense wouldve been low, playing it safe was the best option for now.

as he got to the station, that paranoia left. there was nothing tracking him once he was at the doorstep of the station. even so, he couldnt be too sure. someone like him could never let his guard down. the amount of people that wanted him wiped from existence were too many to let himself relax.

they made a spot behind the front desk a comfortable place to lay byul down. their jackets off to make a pillow and blanket for the girl, covering her from the line of vision of anyone who came in. before going back to work, they had made sure byul felt cozy and warm enough. they both noticed how she shivered whenever the wind struck her at the door and beyond.

explained to yeosang that byul and her father were homeless, and that he suspected the father had been dragged away. they probably hadnt seen byul on the bench behind the playground, that or they didnt have time to grab her as well. the footprints seemed deem in the ground, so it was obvious the father had put up a fight and tried to station himself.

of course, yunho hadnt explained much about byul herself or the other suspicions he had about her father. He had only gave him an explanation about physical evidence of the father being abducted.

an hour went by, and neither had spoken a word about byul or her father until yeosang went to check on her. he felt horrible for the girl. a child being separated from their parent.. it was something he wished to never see again.

as he was fixing up the jacket placed on her to keep her warm and covered, the necklace she wore had revealed itself. hus gaze softened seeing it, but with a closer inspection, the man snapped back to his senses.

" yunho, " yeosang called out while brushing the hair off of byuls face. his voice was one of worry and realization. it was easy to tell, but yunho replied as if he chouldnt.

" yes, yeosang ? " the man replied while keeping his eyes glued to the papers in front of him.

" shes part of---no, her father is a part of the-- "

" quiet. " yunho interrupted, finally looking up from the papers in his hands. though, he didnt look back at yeosang. instead, he looked straight ahead at the sliding glass doors as if someone was standing in front of them, waiting to come inside.

" keep in mind i have yet to go outside and check if the area is safe ." sfter saying that, yunho remembered he had never explained to yeosang about what he felt on his way to the station. he didnt plan on explaining it to him right then, though.

" what do you mean ? did someone follow you ? yunho, why didnt you say anything ?! its been over an hour and you didnt think to tell me even once ?? "

" i never said that. the thing is, there is a child without her parent. whoever took her father could be seeking his child. we must stay safe. staying inside with byul is probably the safest option. this way one can be on guard while the other gets byul out of here if someone were to attack. "

yeosangs frustration was understandable. st times like these, any information or details left in the dark could be an invitation to their end.

" you cant.. " yeosang paused for a moment, taking in a deep breath to collect himself. " you cant keep everything to yourself like this. " once loud and now quiet, yeosang ended the conversation just like that. he reminded yunho about their deal with a couple words, leaving with a stack of papers in hand to go put them in the back.
