Hours had passed since the Spirit tree revealed Ori's relationship with Sein as well as their child, Solas to the spirits. Everything was going great, Solas was playing with the other spirits while Ori and Sein were talking with some of the reborn spirits. Ori decided to tell the group of reborn spirits what had happened over the weeks that passed after he and Sein saved Nibel and after Sein was able to reunite with Ori thanks to the Spirit tree's spirit link. Then Leru asked a question "Will you tell Solas about the blindness?" this question caught both Ori and Sein off guard "That was unexpected. When she's older I suppose that's if she wants to know." Ori answered with Sein agreeing.
Night was approaching as the sky began to darken "The sky is darkening. It seems we've been out for the entire day." Sein spoke as she looked at Ori to which he nodded. Solas soon approached her parents, exhaustion evident on her face. Solas soon sat down where her parents were and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Ori was the first to notice that Solas fell asleep "Wow... Seems the spirits really tired her out." he said as he carefully picked Solas up. "Maybe you two should head back to Lost grove." Fil spoke "Yeah, we should. It's getting late. I bid all the spirits farewell." Sein said while she waved before they left.
Ori and Sein walked to the spirit well in Hollow grove and warped to the spirit well in their home "What a day, huh?" Ori asked while taking Solas to the straw bed that the family of three would share "Yes, it's been an interesting day." Sein answered. Both Ori and Sein felt tired, so they laid down on the straw bed and went to sleep.
While Sein and Solas were sleeping peacefully, Ori wasn't quite as lucky as he was tossing and turning before waking up in cold sweat. He quickly sat up, his breathing was fast and unstable "Just a nightmare." Ori thought as he controlled his breathing. Ori hasn't had a nightmare since he recovered from the blindness of Nibel. Ori decided to exit the cave for some air to try and clear his mind "I hope this helps." he spoke quietly as sat down with his head in his paws as the pain from the blindness came rushing back to him.
Ori soon heard a voice coming from the caves entrance "Are you ok, dad?" Ori immediately knew who this was "Yeah just a nightmare. Did I accidently wake you up, Solas?" Ori asked back while turning to face her. Solas nodded as she approached her father "I'm sorry that I woke you." Ori apologized "Its ok, dad. You don't need to apologise for anything. I just want to make sure you're alright, just like mum would." Solas said with a smile and hugged her father.
Ori imminently returned the hug "Thank you." he spoke "You don't need to thank me. Would you like to talk about your nightmare?" Solas asked which made Ori freeze for a moment "It was about the terrible event you heard me speak about back at your grandmother's house." Ori answered. "That terrible event again. I know mum said I didn't want to know but could you tell me what happened?" Solas asked. Ori was expecting her to ask at some point "I will tell you but just to make sure, do you really want to know?" Ori asked which Solas nodded.
Ori took a deep breath "It all started during something called the light ceremony, its where the light sends a call to any spirit that were lost from being carried by the wind during a windy day or a storm like... me. During the ceremony, a big dark owl named Kuro stole the light that was up on the mantle of your grandfather, which would be your mother. Then as years pass, the land of Nibel, our home began to wither and decay which was a huge problem. So, I went to go try and fix the problem that's when I met your mother which it's hard to believe that when I saw her, she was a blue orb before she changed into the spirit she is now. Then our journey truly began. We came across some roadblocks along the way as well as gained a new friend and new abilities which are the abilities you have such as: Wall jump, bash, double jump, and climb just to name a few. Well, back to the story me and your mother were tasked to restore the three elements of light: The element of waters, near the top of the Ginso tree. The element of winds, deep within the Forlon ruins which is where Gumo came from. And the element of warmth, beneath the fires of Mount Horu. These were all dangerous to trek through especially Mount Horu. After cleansing one of the elements, we had to run from the danger it summoned: For the waters, a high rising tide. The winds, falling icicles and gusts of wind threatening to shoot us into spikes made of ice. And Horu, we had to flee from Kuro while dodging fire balls raining from the sky. When it was all over though, we began heading back to your grandfather only to be snatched out of the sky by Kuro and I was badly injured before well... as far as I was told my body began glowing brightly with golden light. I soon began reaching out to Kuro because she lost something incredibly special to her that day during the ceremony... she lost her three owlets. I managed to talk her out of her hatred and grief before she took your mother back to the Spirit tree and placed her back on the mantle to which sent a giant shockwave of light to ripple throughout Nibel but... it came at a cost..." Ori began to weep with his golden tears flowing down his face as he remembered what happened to Kuro "To put it simply... Kuro's in a better place now..." he added before he began to lightly sob.
Solas listened to everything her father said and was in shock. But though, a question remained "If mum was the light that was ripped away from my grandfather, then how is she here?" she thought out loud "It's all thanks to a special link your grandfather did. It's called a spirit link, it allows any spirit light to be linked with another so, he used it on himself and your mother." Ori answered his daughter's question, still saddened at the loss of Kuro.
Solascould see the sadness on her father's face so, she hugged him which he huggedback "You're exactly like your mother, always helping me when I need it." Orispoke, happier than before. "I just want to help. Now, come on, dad. You needrest." Solas spoke before trying to bring her father into the cave by pullinghim which to Ori's surprise, he was moving just a little bit "Wow...she has abit of my strength." he thought before standing up and walked into the cavewith Solas. Ori and Solas headed back to the bed and began to lay down on it"Good night, Solas." Ori said to her "Good night, dad." Solas replied beforethey both closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep.
