Dream, Just dream, long ago, long ago, long ago...

The kiss had caught you both off guard, the sound of your heart pounding so hard against your chest that you thought it would shatter your ribs and jump out of your ribcage.

Since you informed your small group of friends that you were openly bisexual, the tension between you and Peter has been evident.

Unknown to them, you refused to tell them why you came out; Peter Park. Luck had it that you were able to blend in with other boys your age, although you had seemed to be smitten with him since middle school.

As a member of the school's basketball team, you were more involved in athletics, diverting your attention away from Peter.

You were hoping that a change in the social environment would wake you up; you didn't want another bullseye on your back in your high school's dreadful suburban neighborhood.

Of course, over the years, Peter seemed to cling to you like glue.

You've tried many times to shake Peter off in the hopes that he'd fade into his own crowd, but all that seemed to happen was that he met Gwen, the blonde-haired woman who talked back to everyone, earning her not the best popularity rank when it came to her open opinions.

She had become just another person you had to keep you from completely converting to the stereotypical basketball players around the school, openly bugging you about the people you hung out with as if she were your irritated aunt.

To cut a long story short, Peter and Gwen were not, particularly the athletic type.

Leaving you with the overbearing task of shielding your teammates from the harsh teasing they would inflict on the teenagers while also nagging the two about the importance of standing up for themselves, though it was mostly directed at Peter having gotten his ass kicked many times by Flash.

Little has changed over the years, and your plan to distance yourself from Peter has failed, as you three appear to be growing closer.

You felt dishonest because you had a crush on the boy while he swooned over female classmates or ranted about something photography-related.

You felt foolish sitting there, tainting the beautiful connection you two shared with the blossoming, festering yearning that rose in your chest around him.

You were stuck, stuck falling for your best friend Peter Parker, which all led to the fuckup that left you both staring at each other flushed and stunned. "I'm sorry, please don't tell anyone."

Was the only thing that came out of your mouth as you hurriedly packed your belongings, oblivious to the fact that you were probably stuffing some of Gwen's homework into your bag as you grabbed whatever you could reach in the hurried amount of time.

Peter could only watch his body solidify in shock as you filled the silence with shuffling papers and stumbling to your feet as you tried to rush out the room before being blocked by Gwen, the woman missing the unfolding moments because she was too busy in the restroom.

Before you could slip past her, she grabbed you by the shoulders. "[y/n] you're leaving already? we didn't even get to study like half of the test" you couldn't breathe, a lump forming in your throat as hot tears pricked your eyelids.
